Jess | 3721 comments I liked On the Edge, but it wasn't as great to me as Kate Daniels series was. I guess I was just missing Curran and Kate. But once I got over that, it was a great book.

I figured Bayou Moon was going to follow Rose and Declan, but now realize it's going to focus on new characters. I don't know how much I'm going to like that.

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 3123 comments I really liked the world that this book was set in. I liked the book and am looking forward to the next one.

Kelley Anne | 1619 comments I haven't finished this. Got distracted by some other things. But so far I am really enjoying it. But I wasn't really comparing them to the Kate Daniels series. I've only read the first Kate book, and don't really remember anything about it! But I should probably try a re-read while we are focusing on this author!

SamBFN Just finished this. Not that I wasn't loving Ilona Andrews before this but this book has sealed that she has become one of my "must buy" authors. I'll write my review and post it in a bit.

Rebekah (rowen1313) | 29 comments I really liked this book. It is the first Ilona Andrews book I have read and really got into it. I am glad to find that the next book wont be following Rose and Declan. The story ended on such a final note that I was really having a hard time forseeing how they would be able to start a new conflict.

Kelley Anne | 1619 comments Who will the next book be about?

message 8: by Rebekah (new)

Rebekah (rowen1313) | 29 comments The next book is about William and some chick called Cires (SP) you can check it out on the authors webpage, http://ilona-andrews.com/

Jaime Rush (jaime_rush) | 126 comments I'm like Kelley Anne, in that I'm not hooked on the Kate Daniels series so much (yet) that it disappointed me that it's not a Magic book. I loved On the Edge and wrote a full review on it. Ilona Andrews is a fantastic writer. I found the Magic books a bit on the gory side, but not the Edge. I'll definitely buy the next one!

Does it drive you crazy when authors come out with new series, thus pushing back the release datse of the original series? It seems that once you're hooked on one series, you kinda resent the time it takes to write another one. It's always the red-headed stepchild, LOL.

The only time this bothers me is if I don't like the new series. But if I like it, then in theory it seems like you are getting more books and that is always good!!

Kelley Anne | 1619 comments Just finished On The Edge last night! I really enjoyed it! I liked that there was some romance, and even a happily ever after, but that wasn't the main focus of the book. I mean, don't get me wrong, I like romance as much as most people, but I also need a great story to sink my teeth into along with the romance. And this was one of those books!

I agree that I am happy the next book has to do with William! Can't wait to see what happens with him! I also wouldn't be surprised if we end up seeing a few other familiar faces!

message 14: by Kelley Anne (new)

Kelley Anne | 1619 comments BTW, I just loved the two brothers! Anyone else starting thinking that they would have really gotten along with young Clay from Men of the Otherworld? They think quite a bit alike!

Sandra | 4736 comments Finished On the Edge and really liked it.

I'm very glad William's book will be out in only '7 months' *groan*.

Literary Ames (amyorames) | 237 comments I've just finished On the Edge too. It was very different and I'm still letting the story sink in but I liked it. There were moments when Declan reminded me of Curran which made me smile. I felt sorry for William so I'm glad his story is next.

Jaime Rush (jaime_rush) | 126 comments It'll be interesting to see where they take the story in terms of which characters will get their stories. And will we spend more time in the Edge, our world, or the magic one?

message 19: by Christina (new)

Christina | 35 comments I think it's going to be in the Edge with some more exposure to the Weird. Bayou Moon description from Ilona Andrews website:

Cerise Mar and her unruly clan are cash poor but land rich, claiming a large swathe of the Mire, the Edge swamplands between the state of Louisiana and the Weird. When her parents vanish, her clan’s long-time rivals are suspect number one.

But all is not as it seems. Two nations of the Weird are waging a cold war fought by feint and espionage, and their conflict is about to spill over into the Edge—and Cerise’s life . William, a changeling soldier who left behind the politics of the Weird, has been forced back into service to track down a rival nation’s spymaster.

When William’s and Cerise’s missions lead them to cross paths, sparks fly—but they’ll have to work together if they want to succeed…and survive.

Kelley Anne | 1619 comments I think that one of the interesting things is the fact that even though it's "The Edge" it's a different edge than the one in the first book. Will these edgers be similar to the people in the first book?

I'm also really interested in seeing William's character develop. I mean, we got a lot of info on him in the first book, but I'm looking forward to finding out more!

message 21: by Jaime (new)

Jaime Rush (jaime_rush) | 126 comments Book 2 sounds very interesting. William will be a hero who has been an outcast, unloved, but will find love, and that's always a great transformation story.

message 22: by Ctanner (new)

Ctanner | 9 comments I stumbled upon On the Edge at a used bookstore. I had never read the Kate Daniels series. I loved this book. The world that the authors created was imaginative and unique. William was an interesting character and I am excited to read the next book with him as the focus. On a side note, after reading this book, I began reading the Kate Daniels series and it is fabulous!

message 23: by new_user (new)

new_user I agree, I thought this book was pretty creative and I can't wait to read William's book, he needs love!
