David Burton (davidhburton) Sawyer's next book in the WWW series is coming out next month. Anyone else as eager to read it as I am?

Cindy (newtomato) | 121 comments Oooh, I am! I'm not sure if I'll pick it up right away. I thought Wake was pretty interesting - I got it for christmas and it was a perfect gift!

I saw on one of RJS's blog posts he mentioned that he doesn't consider himself a YA or just Adult author, but with the WWW series, he tried to consider younger readers while appealing to all age groups. What was interesting was that he does consider himself to be a Utopian author, especially with this series and Hominids.

Cathy (cathygreytfriend) | 122 comments Thanks for the heads-up. I checked his website a few times but couldn't figure out when it was being released. I just reserved it from the library. I enjoyed the first book bit didn't love it. I remember being surprised at how much I liked the girl, she's so different from the characters in the his other books. I had some issues with how he handled the AI concept, but liked the idea of how she saw through the girl, and vice versa. I'm interested to see where he takes it.

Julia | 957 comments I haven't yet read Wake, but yeah, I pretty much love everything I've read by Robert J. Sawyer. So I'll be getting it. Eventually. Did it say on his website how many books he projects for this series?

You won't be disappointed with this series. I also really loved his Neanderthal Parallax. I think he's a brilliant writer.

Karina (camomiletea) I'm planning to read it, not necessarily buy it. I enjoyed the first one.

Marissa | 28 comments I'm definitely looking foreward to it. I've love all of Sawyer's books that I've read, and the characterization of Wake was especially touching. I even got my mom, who usually won't touch sci-fi with a ten foot pole, to read it because she teaches blind and visually impaired children. She loved it! She recognized a lot of the computer programs as ones her kids use, and was impressed by the research Sawyer did. As was I. We both wondered where the research ended and the sci-fi began in some places. The large sci-fi elements are obvious, but some of the smaller things had me wondering - is anybody doing this kind of research? Which of the web sites mentioned (if any) really exist? Does anybody know if there are any discussions about the realities of the book I could look up?

Joon (everythingbeeps) | 512 comments I've been meaning to start reading Sawyer forever. I've got a bunch of his books already, even.

So yesterday I started on FlashForward. Unless I'm disappointed (and I don't think I will be), I'll continue on with a bunch more of his books, including the two WWW books.

Jim Shannon (envaneo) | 24 comments Robert J Sawyer will be in my city May 8th where I buy all my SFF books. I've got a signed author copy of Wake from last year.I want to read the entire trilogy when it becomes available. I don't know if I'll have the cash for Watch when he gets here :-(
