That's pretty remarkable, Biate! I'm also a huge fan of the In Death series.

I have read quite a few but have SO many to go. I loved the Chesapeake series.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 1494 comments Some one got me searching for an old Nora book from the 1981 Irish Thoroughbred (Irish Hearts, #1) by Nora Roberts I couldn't find it so I started searching e-book library collections and found that City of Los Angeles Public Library collection has it and a whole lot more. 219 e-books which must be her whole catalogue and some compilations. I don't live in Los Angeles, but I got a card and am starting to borrow the old books.

message 404: by DKT (new)

DKT (dkt13) I tried today to go through and knock out the ones I had read prior to Kindle, but had a heck of a time pulling the trigger on them. I was so sure, but if I wasn't 100% I didn't mark it. Several though I looked at a couple times. Nice thing about that is when I bring them to Kindle it'll either be like a new find or something will spark and I'll remember something and be like "I knew it!" and that will be ok too :D

I've read a bunch ~ between my Mom and my Neighbor you'd be hard pressed to want a book the two of them don't have. They are into digital now which is a space saver, but sometimes I do miss not seeing and smelling the book stacks all over the place. Or how you could say Johanna Lindsey the one with the green frog or Dick Francis the horse wore green silks and that one jockey lost part of his index finger and they could pop up and find whatever book it was, top shelf of a closet somewhere, middle of the 6 pile in the book room between x & y, lol ~ they were amazing! Loved the covers back then too, so much more-so than now that they use actual people for them. Author's name in elegant script and all and as far as the people ~ I like to imagine them how I see them, not have a photograph of people I haven't even met yet. Sorry guess this paragraph should have been written elsewhere.

message 405: by Pat (new)

Pat | 1 comments I have read them all except Promise Me Tomorrow which is out of print and will not be reprinted.

message 406: by A (new)

A (the_aiobhan) I've read all of her Nora Roberts novels, and a handful of the In Death series (which I gave up on after the third book - it just wasn't to my taste). I even started going waaaaaaay back to make sure I added the ones I read as a wee teenager to my Goodreads shelf. I think I got them all!

message 407: by Dawn (new)

Dawn | 199 comments The In Death books only get better, in case you want yo give them another try. That will give you like another 40 books or so

I'm just not a crime-novel type person, but I did enjoy the plot twists and character development! Roberts is so good at that. :D

Lol look dawn! I'm not the only person who didn't like the In Death books!;)) Andrea I am with you, I even tried about 6 of them.

In Death isn't for everyone. I discovered Nora after reading that series, which ranks as my all-time favorite. But I do get how it can be too much for some.

message 412: by Judy (new)

Judy Hall (goodreadscomjudy_hall) | 44 comments My number for Nora is somewhere around 40. I loved the Blood Brothers trilogy, In the Garden, the Keys and the Secret Sisters. I've also read all of the full In Death novels. I'm still missing a few novellas.

Jonetta's right about the In Death series, but Nora has used it to experiment with different styles of mystery and thriller writing and I've enjoyed that mix.

message 413: by Elisabeth (new)

Elisabeth (elisabethdegrandpre) As an update, I'm now at 99 Nora's read. Reading Heart of the Sea as number 100.

Mind you 99 read over 16 years...

message 414: by Jonetta (new)

Jonetta (ejaygirl) | 7088 comments Mod
That's wonderful, Elisabeth!

message 415: by Julia (new)

Julia (juliace) I would have to go back and read her book list, but I'm pretty sure I've read everything she's put out - trilogies, stand-alones, anthologies and JD Robb.
I read her first book Irish Thoroughbred when it was released through Silhouette and I've been an avid fan ever since.

message 416: by Britney (new)

Britney | 380 comments The Nora shelf I have on my books say I'm at 107, fixing to be 108 after I finish The Obsession :) but some of the stand alones and most of the trilogies I've read around 10 times over the years. After I go to long without Nora I start missing my favorite people , so I have to go revisit them again lol. It's so amazing to be in a group of people that love her!

message 417: by [deleted user] (new)

I have read all of her books except for the most recent published one - The Obsession.

message 418: by ♥ Joy Joy ♥ (new)

♥ Joy Joy ♥ (joylia) I have read almost all of her series and trilogies and a few of her singles. I've just gotten started on her In Death series as well. Just finished book #4 of that and am really liking it.

So far, I'm up to 118 total.

message 419: by Cindy (new)

Cindy (wanna_read_all_the_books) | 261 comments Between 1995 and 1999 I read almost everything she had written up until that point. But until this past week I hadn't read anything by her in 16 years. Now I have a list and I want to go back and re-read all of the books I read years ago and all the ones I've missed. I only keep track of the books I've read since I started goodreads in 2007 so right now my Nora shelf only shows the 3 I read this past week. But I just requested 9 others from the library! lol

message 420: by Susan (new)

Wow, Cindy! You plan on catching up quickly:)

We've created a Nora reading tracker if you'd like to keep a record of what you've read to date. Here's the link and I'd check out how others have arranged their listings.

Louise | 26 comments I have read about 20 of Nora's Books. Those are the ones I remember. Some I can't even remember lol, so maybe a little more than that. My favorites are still these two books:
Three Fates by Nora Roberts Born in Ice (Born In Trilogy, #2) by Nora Roberts

I read Blue Smoke. Loved it. It has been made into a movie as well although I cant seem to get any of Nora's movies anyway in South Africa.

Have you read
Midnight Bayou by Nora Roberts

I suggest this book if you like romance.

message 424: by Lindsay (new)

Lindsay | 2 comments I've read them all lol. A friend lent me Montana Sky back in 2003 and I loved her writing style so much I printed her book list and worked my way through all her books (mostly prior to having kids lol). Currently I am up to date on her books and I'm reading the newest In Death books. :-)

message 425: by Tammy (new)

Tammy | 4 comments Hi all, bit new to this but have a question. I have read quite a few Nora Series and loved them but read two stand alone's recently (The Obsession & Montana Sky) loved them but boarded on being a bit scary for me (I know ...soft lol) wanting to know if all her stand alone's are like that or did I just strike two cereal killers in row by coincidence lol
Thanks

All of her standalone books are considered romantic suspense. Some have more suspense than others.

message 427: by Cindy (new)

Cindy (wanna_read_all_the_books) | 261 comments I'm working my way through the 80's right now. lol In stand-alones anyway, with the series' I'm kind of jumping around a little. Since I started my Nora re-read last year I've finished 5 complete series and 19 individuals and I'm on number 20 right now.

Jennifer, Just beyond normal ♑ (jenniferjustbeyondnormal) Can't remember the first book, but I did the same and printed a list and started to read through them all. I am sure I have not read them all but probably 75% of them. I have re-read many of her stories. I have many favorites!

message 434: by Mara (last edited Apr 10, 2017 06:13PM) (new)

Mara Pemberton (marapem) I discovered Nora Roberts and many of the other authors I love and like through my library.

I have not read all of Nora's books, nor have I read or listened to her stand alone's in a while outside group reading the IN DEATH series.

My beef is that we can get a ton of her books in E-book form, but not her audiobooks.

message 435: by Barbara "Cookie" (new)

Barbara "Cookie" Serfaty Williams (goodreadscomcookiew1801) | 689 comments Amozon have many of Nora's book in ebook form I have them all. Only about four are not in ebook form.

message 436: by Jonetta (new)

Jonetta (ejaygirl) | 7088 comments Mod
I think Mara may have meant that we CAN get the eBooks via most libraries but not the audiobooks. My library seems to have most of her titles in eBook format.

Mara, correct me if that's not what you meant.

message 437: by Barbara "Cookie" (new)

Barbara "Cookie" Serfaty Williams (goodreadscomcookiew1801) | 689 comments My Library has an all them on an e-book form and audio form

message 438: by Mara (new)

Mara Pemberton (marapem) Barbara, You are right. With AMAZON owning BRILLIANCE AUDIOBOOKS, for whatever reason Roberts's & Robb books are only downloaded through AUDIBLE.COM which is also owned by AMAZON.

It confounds me as to why AMAZON can't be a more giving and let Overdrive, Axis 360, Hoopla, and OneClick Digital let their books be downloaded through the library systems.

message 439: by Mara (new)

Mara Pemberton (marapem) Barbara, Not all library's are able to put out the money for ebooks and audiobooks. Especially the libraries in the rural areas.

it's not just Nora Roberts/J.D. Robb that is lacking in the amount of the downloadable books or ebooks. Many other popular authors are in the same boat.

Either you have to get the audiobook through AUDIBLE.COM or buy CDs. Not all libraries have Cds either. Or it takes forever to get them.

Jennifer, Just beyond normal ♑ (jenniferjustbeyondnormal) My nora count is at 90 so far, but I know its not exactly accurate. Before good reads and before I actually started to collect her books I would just trade them as I read them. I read approx 32 of the JD Robb books, but in good reads it shows about 27. So some day I will do a re-read of those books. I just keep picking up books at the used books store from time to time. I want her full collection some day. In book form.

Mara Pemberton (marapem) I can't say I've read all of Nora's books, but I've read a lot of them. I haven't read her current stuff of late. I've been into listening to J. D. Robb books more and participating here in Goodreads regarding the IN DEATH series books.

Vicki (vickiguardianofthewraiths) I've read quite a few of her books as Nora Roberts but only #1 in the Death series. I do have a list of all her books to work my way through. Being on Goodreads keeps me focused on her books. So far I've read 25 each year in the 1000 book challenge. Looking forward to Year One (Chronicles of The One, #1) by Nora Roberts starting off 2018.

It sounds so different from her usual trilogies. I'm trying to hold off until all three are released...or until the price drops haha. Waiting sucks.
