Jessie | 12 comments 1. Hello! My name is Jessie, 27 from the US.
2. I discovered the series on goodreads this past week and have went to 3 of my surronding libraries to get the series and read them all in 3 days. I seriously have not been sleeping just reading. (Lucky for me I found this series late so I didn't have to wait months to read between books)
3. I'm loving Shadowfever because I love that Mac has now finally become completely "epic"!
4. To be honest it was hard to get in to the first few chapters of the first book. The character was a tad annoying with all the pink and pretty descritiptions but her character developed into one smart, hot, tough fairy-ass kicker! I have tons of questions and will have to reread just to make sure I didn't miss anything.

Very different, but you get tidbits in the beginning about the fae. Towards the end of series you get more info, and it helps once you start reading Fever series. If you like hot highlanders, I highly recommend it.

Isabella (livbet) | 19 comments Hi everyone, I'm Rosie from the UK. Five grown up kids, one husband, and a Westie. Love reading, and write as well. Work at an Obs and Gynae hospital. Found the Fever series whilst searching Amazon for novels set in Ireland. Read all five in less than three weeks, and have now started the Highlander series. In love with Jericho Barrons.

message 155: by Jo (new)

Jo (jo_vbc) | 1 comments Hi, I'm Jo, I'm 26, from the UK and suffering from major Fever withdrawal! I'm an ashamed late coming to this series, having had it sat on my self for a (sinfully) long time without reading it. I started it last week and finished Shadowfever this morning and am now at a complete lose with what to do with myself! Am not usually a massive fan on Fae mythology (preferring vampire/ shifter types) but wow did this series make me re-think that! Was blown away, have rarely known cliffhangers like it! (this being the only reason I'm glad I waited to read this series!)

I'm thinking about reading Moning's 'Highlander' series but have heard the first 3 aren't that great and should start at the 4th? Now I also happen to suffer from MRSIOS (that would be must-read-series-in-order syndrome.) is it worth breaking myself out in literary hives and start at number 4?

message 156: by Isabella (new)

Isabella (livbet) | 19 comments Jo, I loved the first of the Highlander series, although it's basically 'just' a love story. Great characters.

My only 'complaint' in all KM's books is that she does seem to mix up Irish and Scottish dialogue!

message 157: by Tasha (new)

Tasha | 1 comments Hi, I'm Tasha from Louisiana. I heard about the fever series on goodreads! I read the fever series and wanted more from KMM. I started the Highlander series. Now, I can't wait for her new books. The series kept me interested from the first book. Love Mac and Barrons!!!!

message 158: by Janice (new)

Janice | 3 comments Hi, I'm Janice from Illinois. I also heard about the Fever Series on goodreads. I'm almost done with Bloodfever (Fever, #2) by Karen Marie Moning This series is amazing! Mac and Barrons are great. I'm so glad I'm reading them now and can read them all at one time. I would hate to have waited one year between books.

message 159: by Isabella (new)

Isabella (livbet) | 19 comments That was my feeling too, Janice.

message 160: by Sara (new)

Sara (saragr) | 35 comments Jo, I liked all the Highlanders but admit that the first 2, (for me) were not as good as the others. BUT I would try to maybe borrow them from the library or somewhere if you weren't sure you wanted to buy them, bc they were worth reading IMO. However, I wasn't sorry that I bought 1 and 2, although cheap on half.com.

I wish I had not known about the Fever series until now bc I had to wait a few months for Dreamfever and then over a year for Shadowfever and all that waiting after the cliffhangers were so brutal!! I agree, I had never read cliffhangers like that before. After the Sookie Stackhouse books, Fever is my next favorite series.

Hi Rosie, Tasha, & Janice!

message 161: by Janice (new)

Janice | 3 comments I have not read the Highlander Series. Probably will though because I love the Fever Series so much. Did Barrons play a part in the Highlander Series?

message 162: by Isabella (new)

Isabella (livbet) | 19 comments Ive only read two, but not so far, and I'm not hopeful.

message 163: by Sara (new)

Sara (saragr) | 35 comments No, Barrons doesn't show up but the last few books set up the Fever books so for that reason you may want to read them. A few other characters from the Highlander books do show up in Shadowfever though.

message 164: by Holly (new)

Holly (nyxxornaught) | 2 comments Hi, I'm Holly. I am so enamored of the characters in the Fever series. It may be my favorite series of all.

message 165: by Tracy (new)

Tracy (rosenfie) | 5 comments Hi All,
- I'm Tracy, I'm 34 and live in the US.
- Two friends on Twitter (one RL) recommended the Fever series for me because I was/am on a supernatural kick.
- I can't pick a favorite book - they are all fabulous and engrossing.
- I listened to the series on audiobook (though I have all 5 paperbacks), so I found everything to be very visual. Especially, ahem, book 4. But seriously, I could picture each realm that Mac entered in the mirrors, each bauble at BB&B, every character. It was all so detailed I felt like I was watching it unfold in front of me. I plan to take a trip to Ireland and Scotland solely because of these books.

message 166: by Elena (new)

Elena | 1 comments I'm Elena, 53, from Illinois.
I've read everything that KMM has written and she is my favorite author. Started reading the Highlander series, then started reading the Fever series after FaeFever was released. While waiting for DreamFever and ShadowFever, I went back to Highlander series and read all of them. I've read the Fever series about 5 times now. They're my favorite books of all time. I became obsessed with JZB. Can you be in love with a fictional character?! ShadowFever is my favorite in the Fever series and Kiss of the Highlander is my favorite in the Highlander series. I have DreamFever and ShadowFever on audio and book. I also have ShadowFever on my Kindle. I also have both Bloodrush CD and ShadowSong CD. I especially like the song, Alone on the ShadowSong CD. I love to talk about the series with anyone who wants to listen.

Diana Stormblessed (dashichka) Hi, my name is Diana, 28 from IL
I just found the series last week through a friend who recommended it to me due to my love of sci fi, and I have not stopped reading. I'm wrapping up the last now. So glad I got to read them all 1 after the other. Esp with the DreamFever ending. Don't know how people could wait a year between these books. I've never read so many pages so quickly. Officially obsessed. I am in love with Jericho. Can't get him out of my head. Sad. I think I'll be tackling the Highlander series next.

message 168: by Jessi (new)

Jessi | 1 comments Hi I am Jessi 35 from WI.
I was looking for a new series and my friend was reading the first fever book. It was so good I had to go and buy the other books because I could not put them down. I too am very much into Jericho. I love all of his mannerizms. My friends wanted to make Tshirts that stated Jerich piya.

message 169: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (shorton0219) | 4 comments Hi. My name is Stephanie. I am 35 and I live in the US. I had just finished all the Charlaine Harris books and was looking for a new series so my cousin recommended the Fever Series. I love all the books too much to choose a favorite and I love everything about the books.

message 170: by Shelly (new)

Shelly Hello everyone my name is Shelly. I'm 36 and I'm from Ky. I discovered the Fever Series through Amazon.com. My all time most favorite series of books! I love the Barrons/Mac/V'Lane storyline. I'm reading it again for the 2nd time. I think that Ms Moning is an excellent author!!!

Stephanie (Bookfever) (bookfever) Hi everyone! I'm Stephanie, but most people call me Stephii or Steph. I recently turned 20 and I live in Belgium.
Someone I befriended here on GR recommended the series to me, so that's how I discovered it. Even then it took me a while before I acutally started the series, now I ask myself a lot why the hell I waited so long!
My favorite book in the series... God, that's a really hard question. I really couldn't tell. I loved all the books so much!
The things I loved about the series is that it was really addicting from the first page until the last. I love Moning's writing and Mac is a great heroine! Also I got to meet Barrons (yum!) and finally hear what all the fuss was about him! The whole series was simply amazing! ♥

message 172: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (stephg617) | 1 comments Hi, I'm Stephanie, 37, from Kentucky, USA. I haven't read any of her books yet, but have seen them and they are definitely something I'd like to read!

Maida (Medley of Books) (maidasmedleyofbooks) My name is Maida, I'm 17 from Canada.

I saw a lot of my friends on goodreads read it and had amazing reviews for it, so I wanted to give it a try! Good thing I did! ;)

I love all of the books but I am in love (literally in love) with Shadowfever! I loved the way Mac and Barrons' relationship just blossoms in this book! It made my heart beat like a drum! And besides whats not to love?!!!!

I love the series because well...you answered this question for me! I AM A BARRONS MANIAC!!!! lol;) Also, I loved taking a break from reality and just diving into KMM's world! It was very HOT and thrilling!

message 174: by Marulett (new)

Marulett | 1 comments Hi guys! Mi name is Marina, I´m 25 from Argentina.

I came across this series in a blog.

It´s difficult to choose just one book, but i think I´m gonna go with Shadowfever a lot of really good stuff happens in that one though book 4 was great too.

I think this is one of those series that has everything to keep you hooked until the very end...and oh yeahh I LOOOOVE BARRONS!!

message 175: by Becca (new)

Becca (bucky0112) | 3 comments Hello, my name is Becca. I come from the state of 10,000 Lakes, if you thought Minnesota you are right!and i am 19.
e
I love Mac and Barrons they are great together,I especially love Barrons, there is one word that describes him all together and that is HOT.

This series is soo good you can re-read them and still find little new details that you didn't find before. I personally think that she put alot of work and effort into researching for this series so that her fans enjoy the story.

message 176: by Suzee (new)

Suzee (suzee61) | 1 comments Hi everyone. My name is Suzee, I'm from Melbourne, Australia.
I discovered the wonderful world of Jericho and Mac, while trawling for something new to read in the other natural realm.
I have loved all the books and am thrilled to know there will be more Barrons and Mac to come. I had a thing for V'lane too.
But Barrons is my ultimate male in all the series I've read.

message 178: by Renee (new)

Renee B. (fictionalpursuit) | 3 comments /waves at everyone/

Hello! I'm Renee, 24, Brunei (it's a tiny kingdom on a huge island in Southeast Asia, in case anyone wants to know). I've been reading about the Fever series (Goodreads, other book forums) for a while now but never really got around to picking it up. I'm so glad I did!

My favorite book is Shadowfever. I've been waiting (forever) for Mac to own up to her feelings to Barrons and it was perfect. Also, a lot of questions were answered and Moning kept her promise to give us a story about light, and not darkness. :) After all that hell in the first 4 books, the ending was bittersweet.

I love this series because it was unpredictable. I pride myself in being able to see clues hidden in the lines but this series.. my goodness, I was completely blindsided by a lot of events. Haha. This series reminded me to be humble, and that's more than I can ask for in a book. I picked it up to immerse myself in a new world but never expected to walk away with a few life lessons. :)

message 179: by saga (new)

saga (iyagi) Hi, my name is Saga. I'm from Sweden, which is a really cold country in the winter. My GR friend Stephii told me, she posted some quotes in the Book Boyfriend group and I couldn't stay away. I have only almost finished the first book, but ordering all the others right away. Mac is just what I pictured the perfect female lead to be like, she's not perfect. And that makes it so more real. She's not awkward, she's easy to relate to. Barrons is beyond words. It's written in a lovely, very well-written way. It's just lovely! Amazing book.
Hugs,

message 180: by Cheekylele (new)

Cheekylele 1. Hey ladies! My name is Lele, 37, New Zealand
2. How you discovered the series
By a strange twist of fate i was searching for a good read on good reads *snicker* and Hellooooooo Barrons! I was sold on the first page!

3. Which was your favorite book - hmmmm I've reread Dreamfever and Shadowfever around 5 times so far ... still pondering but the sheer amount of surprises i found in Shadowfever would have to trump Dreamfever!

-And why you loved the series so much.
Barrons!!! V'lane/Cruce!! The love story behind the Concubine and Unseelie King, The MacKeltars, the world building, the twists and turns, Macs evolution, Barrons Boys (The 8)

it was all too epic to fit in one book ... but wow what dreams Karen weaves!!!!! thank you, thank you!
:)

message 181: by Jeannine (new)

Jeannine | 1 comments 1) Hello Everyone. My Name is Jeannine, 25, United States.

2) I discovered the series randomly on Goodreads put it on my to-read shelf and forgot all about it! Until I was looking for a new series to start reading....I don't know what took me so long!

3) For favorite book its between Dreamfever and Shadowfever...but I would have to say Shadowfever because of all the twists and turns and the way the book ends.

4) I loved this series so much, it was just addicting...I never wanted to put it down and often fought so hard to stay awake just to keep reading. I loved Mac as the heroine and how she developed and of course I also loved Barrons/V'lane storyline.

message 182: by Mariana (new)

Mariana | 2 comments Hi, My name is Mariana, 46 and from the US
I learned about the series from a friend at work. She kept ranting about how great the series was and now I totally agree with her.
My favorite book was Shadowfever. With so many surprises, I couldn't put it down.

Barrons is why I love this series. He is my fictional boyfriend. I think that KMM is a wonderful writer and her books don't follow a path, in that when people die it is totally unexpected. This is how the characters grew specifically Mac, grew.

message 183: by Isabella (new)

Isabella (livbet) | 19 comments Barrons is your fictional boyfriend? Is he cheating on me?!

message 184: by toofondofbooks (new)

toofondofbooks LOL! I think Barrons is cheating on a lot of us... But then again, I cheat on him sometimes, too;)

Sarah ♥ dog crazy ♥ (mylheage) I'm a slut when it comes to fictional males. LMAO

But you can all fight over Barrons (he is yummy I admit that), then I can have Ryodan! ;-)

message 186: by toofondofbooks (new)

toofondofbooks Barrons is very yummy, but I must say I have been fixating more on Bones Halfway to the Grave (Night Huntress, #1) by Jeaniene Frost lately! Luckily, I have my DH to reap the benefits of my fantasies, no matter who the subject material is;)

Holly (velvetsun) Hi all,

I'm Holly and I live in NJ.

Having been a BIG fan of KMM's Highlander series, I finally got around to starting the Fever series, and what can I say? I am completely hooked. I am almost done with Darkfever, and all I can say is...wow. And Barrons...Damn!

message 189: by Mich (new)

Mich | 73 comments Hi! I'm Michy from CT- I just spent all night super glued to book 3 until I finished it in the wee hours of the morning- and then b/c of the ridiculous cliff hanger (AHH) started book 4 (oh holy hell-what a start to that book!!)
I just came off the Night Huntree series into The Fever series, and i am IN LOVE with these books. More well written than any other Urban Fantasy I have read, and amazing character development!! I LOVE Barrons (and I saw an above comment about Bones, I think I he got replaced in my heart a little bit when I started reading the fever series! Sorry Bones :( )

message 191: by Breann (new)

Breann Hello, my name is Breann. I am 27 and live in the US.

I heard about this series from a friend who recommended it to me. I don't think I will ever be able to give her a rec that will adequately repay her for this one.. sigh...

Whichever book I am currently rereading always seems to be my favorite at the time! :)

I love how nothing is black and white in this series. Everything is shades of grey. KMM talked about (I'm paraphrasing here) that the story could have turned out completely different if Mac had met V'lane before going into BB&B. There isn't a clear hero or villain. I also love JZB!

message 192: by toofondofbooks (new)

I also love that! I've actually thought V'lane had a nobler cause than JZB; he wanted to save his people, whereas Barrons just wants to save his son. So I agree, lots of shades of gray:)

message 193: by Jamie (new)

Jamie (jamie74) Hi everyone! I am Jamie and I love the Fever series. I was introduced to the series by a friend of mine and am so glad I listened to her! I am currently reading Shadowfever. I am hoping that this is the place to find some answers and ideas to so unresolved thoughts of mine.

message 195: by Vaughn (last edited Jun 24, 2012 05:09AM) (new)

Vaughn | 2 comments Hello , my name is Vaughn. I'm from the NC. I got into the Fever series when the manager of the Borders store here recommended it to me after I fell in love with arthors like J.R. Ward, Keri Arthur, and Patricia Briggs. She was on the money. I bought book one, read through it then then bought the rest. Lobe love love it! I have gotten four people to read it so far.

message 196: by toofondofbooks (new)

toofondofbooks Welcome, Vaughn! Yep, Fever usually catches like wildfire, and once you start, you try to get as many people as possible to read it, too:)

message 198: by Julija (new)

Julija (kirinokisu) Hi everyone, my name's Julija. I'm 20 and I'm currently living in Finland.
I discovered the amazing world of Fever through Alpha showdown last year. After reading about one certain JZB, there was no way I could have resisted. What made me love the series (beside Barrons, of course), though, is probably Mac because she's one unique, complex and deep heroine with distinct personality as well as the brilliantly built world.
My favorite book is Shadowfever, followed closely by Dreamfever.

April | 8 comments Hi all! I'm April..I'm 38 and in the USA (Ohio to be exact)! I stumbled upon her Highlander series while looking for more time traveling romance books...LOVED them...and that of course lead the way to the FEVER series...and I can't get enough...seriously! Love these books. It's hard to give you a favorite book...they've all had great things in them..and I love the way she incorporates the 'back' stories..and everything fits together by the end!
I guess that would be the reason I like her writing so much...it's the mystery involved throughout...while keeping you turning pages into the deep of the night because you need to make sure everything is going to be alright. The Highlander Series..and the Fever Series have that element of puzzle pieces...and I usually can't stop until the whole puzzle is finished! I'm impatiently waiting for "Iced"...and then I'll have to find other reads until another is released!
So...looking forward to seeing what everyone else reads when the Fever has abated for a bit...and we have to wait for the next one! And of course...chats about Barrons...and Mac's awesomeosity!
Looking forward to it...and stay to the lights!
