Carolyn Reilly (carolynreilly) I'm Carolyn from Berlin/ Germany. Paranormal romance and romantic suspense are my favorite genres.
I discovered KMM through a friend a few years ago. She'd randomly picked up Darkfever at a bookstore but never got to read it. I borrowed the book, and – no big surprise here - I was hooked! Meanwhile, I've read a few instalments in the Highlander series and all books of KMM's Fever Series except for Burned. It's next on my to-read list though.
My fave book in the Fever series is Dreamfever and I'm totally obsessed with JZB!

welcome Carolyn! :) Dreamfever is my favorite too of the original 5. let us know what you think of Burned! honestly I would probably wait until feverborn comes out since it's not too far away now, so I could read them back to back! haha

Carolyn Reilly (carolynreilly) Hey Melissa! Thank you! Yeah, would probably be better to wait, but I can't ;) If everything goes as planned, I'll start reading Burned tonight :)

Nerea (darkynere) | 2 comments Hi everyone!! My name is Nere i'm 18 and i'm from Spain.
I discovered this series two years ago when i picked up some books of my sister and i read darkfever thinking that it was a standalone, but when i ended the book i was like, "i need to know what happens next" . Then i searched all the books and i read them like they were just one book.
My favourite could be iced or shadowfever.
I loved this series because the story is so different, because the story takes place in Dublin (and i love Dublin), and because the characters are just awesome, specially Dani and all the Sexy mens in this book.

Angeline Monique (seelieme) | 1 comments Hi! :)
My name is Monique, 22 years old, from the Philippines and I'm a Fever addict and I don't want to recover eveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeer!!! ^_^ I discovered this universe from a friend of mine. She just kept on yammering about being Barrons' Pri-ya. LOL. So I thought if she wants that I'd probably want it too. :) I love Shadowfever and Burned!!! Like totally! I love getting into their heads, specially Barrons!...and Lor too. I love this series because it's everything. Okay here is a comment I left on KMM's post that would give you an idea of how and why I have feelings, emotions and just dude...

"Hello. Okay I just need to get this out. Please bear with me. I just finished rereading the entire series. The first time I read it I went into book withdrawal two times. First after I read Iced before Burned was released. I just really waited for Burned to come out then the second times was after I read Burned. No book or story was good enough for me. For 6 months I just didn't read. Then I got back into the saddle and started reading again. Mostly YA books about falling in love blah blah. Then I found two universes that may not be able to rival Fever but can still hold their own. After that I decided to read Fever Series for the second time, more than a year after I read it first. And let me tell you it was a blissful week. I was torn between reading faster so that I can gobble up as much of the world it's offering or slow down and savor each word. I ended up reading it over a week. And now I'm gutted. Just frogging sad and I can't shake it off. Then I went to KMM's good read page to just stare at the cover of Fever Born and my eyes caught horrible comments from fans about Burned and demands about Feverborn and I'm staring like EXCUSE ME?!? Dear Unseelie King!!!! I really tried to hold it in but dafuq is wrong with these people saying things like:
> Mac's and Barron's story is done. --- Like hell it is! You dumb?! why yes, yes you are!
> Burned was a disaster. --- You're a disaster! Get!!!!
> Just bring Dani back.--- Why yes I agree to that and while I tire of Jada's impeccable grammar but Jada is part Dani. Can't eviscerate essential self! Dude!!!

And so much more... Well here are my thought's...
I love this series and even after reading Shadowfever I felt it in my bones that Mac and Barrons are not yet done. You saying that Barrons and Mac are never going to part so it's moot to continue with their story is total BS! This is not a simple minded love story. It's about self discovery, handling temptation, diving into the unknown, trying and fighting to be good when it's so easy to be bad, even be evil. So please don't insult the both of them by insinuating that the whole point of their universe is just to fuck each other. While I do like them fucking a lot THERE IS SO MUCH MORE TO THEM!!! Case in point (unless people didn't get this in Burned):
-Barrons losing his son
-Whose the mother of Barrons' son
-Mac and the continues sassiness of the book
-Mac and Dani's fallout
-Frogging Cruce, he is Mac's rapist too
-The Cruce's elixir that Cruce gave Mac
See???? So much more going on! And to think that Barrons can just up and leave but he is staying and supporting Mac even though sometimes Mac's head likes to take vacations in her own petunia!

Then there's Dani a.k.a Jada. At first people where complaining how old dudes like her. Then she grew up and still people are complaining about where that came from. Like frogging seriously??? What do you want from KMM? Urgh! I will say this again I tire of Jada's incessant perfect grammar but she is here and somewhere Dani is in her.Can we just cool our petunia's and see how it all plays out? I'm very much excited to find out how 14 year old Dani will handle a 19 and half year old's body. Besides people are basing their objections aesthetically. Like Ryodan said Dani could be a Mom in some cultures plus even if she left the Silver at 30 years old, Ryodan would still be thousand years older than her.

Then we have Lor's POV! Are you not happy to be inside that man's head??????? ARE YOU NOT????? Then there's Kat and Kasteo! For serious! I mean I'm even worried how Kasteo will react when 3 of the Nine get their girl and Kasteo well... Then the Unseelie King? FEEL HIS PAIN and just shut up!

Yes I agree Dani and Ryodan have so much more to share but it does not cancel out the others. Plus what do you expect while Ryodan and Dani's story play out? That Mac and Barron's just stay out of their way? Dude!!!!!!! *scoff* Puny humans.

All I really wanna say is it's okay to react negatively about the story but don't act as if it's your universe and to demand stuff from the author. And say that this should be this and that should be that. And if we can just widen our brains and get it out of the gutter and think that Fever Series is not just a love story. If that's what you want go read some Nicholas Sparks or something. Urgh! Just... HOLY STRAWBERRIES DUDE, WE ARE IN A JAM!!! Fecking petunias! <3

P.S.
I feel slightly better now. ^_^ I just need to wait for 54 more days. Whooooooooooooooooo....

P.P.S.
And is there a chance we'll see Adam Black in this universe again? :P

So there! :)

Eszther | 3 comments Hi everyone!
My name is Eszter, 18 years old, from Hungary. Usually i find the most incredible books accidentally, and i was the same with the Iced.
I was so impressed by the book, that i've actually lived in my head after reading this book for a month, could not stop thinking about it. Dani's character... it was so interesting with so much potential.I think the best characters always happens when the author does not shaping it from herself. Incidentally, i guess this is the reason why Moning just can't stop forcing us to spend so much time with Mac. Anyway , thanks for letting me join to the group, i have already spent lot of hours with reading your theorys :)

Welcome Eszther!! The group is in a tizzy as you can imagine after Feverborn just being released. But Iced was my favorite book out of the series so far so I can relate to your passion. As can most the girls here. Have you read Feverborn?

Hi there

Just joined the group, needed a place to discuss my love of the Fever series

I'm Elaine, 29 and I'm from South Africa.
I came across KMM when I was in grade 12 and instantly loved the highlander series. Been following her work ever since.
Most of her books are on my top 10 list but I gotta admit Shadowfever is my #1
I'm not sure why I love the series so much, maybe discussing it with you guys will give me some insight lol

Ami (febes) | 3 comments Hello,
So, yeah..... I'm Ami and I am 23 years old.
*sigh* and I have been addicted to KMM for 1 month now.
Now that that's off my chest.....
I've started reading the Highlander series and I just can't get enough of it.
Am I the only one who can't seem to stop wanting these books to come to life? Motion picture perhaps?
Here is my other dillema....here you have a married gal with a beautiful little girl and great husband. And all she is thinking about are these hunks called Drustan and Hawk or Circenn and all the other ones I can't name, for if I do I might actually pass out from seeing all these (pardon my english) divine, oozing sex appeal, sex on legs, manly names on the screen uhum...anyway back to my point.
So, here I am kinda wishing that so many of these scenarios in the book actually happen TO ME. My husband to magically walk up to me and speak to me in this Scottish accent and maybe....just maybe be wearing a kilt. Or growing about 5 inches in height and gaining 50 pounds in lean muscle. Lord knows I might need to sit down if that ever happens because I might just discover I have weak knees.

Anyway, LONG story short.
Does anyone in a relationship ever find themselves in this predicament?????
I feel as if I should probably, most likely quit reading these books. They are too good to be true. Men like that dont exist. And I am truly happily married. But once I open one of these books, I start wishing certain things happen in my love life. Strange how I wouldn't have thought those things, had I not read all these utterly cheesy, yet so frigging romantic books, so who cares...ugh ME! I care! These books are messing with my head.

message 428: by Kris (new)

Kris | 2 comments Hi Ami -- Oh yeah, I'm sure a lot of women have looked at our sig others and thought the same thing. :-) With the KMM characters from the Fever series I remind myself that they are probably not the best father figures. However the Highland men...they seem to make good dads as well! But I also remember that the women universally had no family (convenient for abandoning their lives) and generally hard lives and I'm glad I didn't have to live through that. Regardless, I have found I have to take a break from certain romances b/c I get a little disappointed with real life. :-/

I never looked at the fact that the women always seem to be by themselves, or something tragic has happened to them.
I have luckily my whole family still around, and it's still growing.
Well, I am glad I am not the only one. I honestly do find myself getting disappointed at times too. Maybe I should take a break as well......even though it's hard!

hahahaha, I think it would be easier for my relationship if my husband knew exactly the contents of the books I read.
I have tried on several occasions to read to him but, he always ends up falling asleep before I can get to the good part.
I am just going to have to try again. I mean come on...reading is one of my biggest hobbies.
Who knows? With a bit of luck, he might take the hint hahaha not so much about the kilts, accent and hair, but the other..thing...KMM can describe so friggin well hihi *cough cough! She is a GOD! I feel sometimes as if I am seeing it happen right before my eyes ( I know it sounds creepy but hey, it's my imagination)

Becky Kelley | 1 comments HI! I am Becky, I'm 40 years old, in PA, USA. I found the Highlander series first on Amazon last summer. It was a recommended time travel book/series. I read them all last summer and then, naturally, read the Fever series, finishing them in a few months time. I just finished reading Feverborn and can't wait to find out more about what's to come. I can't say which is exactly my favorite of all KMM's books. I loved the Highlander series and I love the Fever series, as well. I loved Adam Black and Drustan/Dageus' stories, but I am loving Mac and Barrons. I finished Feverborn and can't wait to read the future releases.

So glad I finally found this group and we can discuss. Hopefully we will have Fever books to discuss for a long time.

My name is Deea (short for Andreea), I'm from Romania.

I discovered this series when Shadowfever came out and everyone was going CRAZY over it. This series was constantly recommended to me by close friends as I was an avid paranormal/UF reader, and I decided that with the final book (ha! little did I know!) out, hearing they all ended with cliffhangers, now it was a good time to start. My life has never been the same ever since. LOL

If the series wasn't dragged out so much, I would say Mac& Barrons are my fav, but now I'm just a Dani- Ryo shipper waiting for their turn to take the damn spotlight. :)

Nic Chadwick | 2 comments Hello All

I've been stalking the Maniacs for a while! My names Nic I'm from a Village in the North-ish of England and I'm am in love with Barrons and Ryodan!!! I read the Highlander series years ago so when the first Fever book came out I bought it straight away... then waited each time KMM brought out another (agonising waits each time). Its like an obsession now. I'm going on Holiday on the 4th of March (Whitby, England just a walking, reading, and indulging Holiday) and haven't yet Read Feversong. I'm trying my hardest to wait until then when I'm all relaxed with a wine or 3. To get me through I've been reading all the Maniacs boards that don't contain spoilers, I've also been reading favourite quotes from the books and in the last week I've re read books 1-8. I'm so obsessed at this moment with Dani and Ryodan that I've planned to re-read Iced to Feverborn again this weekend. I could never get enough of these books. Without this noard i'd have gone insane in the last few weeks since the last book came out, I'd have caved and read it one night after work but I really want to savour it!!!

Its lovely to meet you all after lurking for so long!
