I don't watch Dexter, but I remember, when it was first coming on and what it was about. I found Dexter's position interesting.

Othena I always resisted watching it because the premise din't appeal to me. I mean, a serial killer is not exactly an endearing character but now I'm totally hooked.
Johnny Lee Miller is joining the show and I luvs me some Johnny Lee Miller :)

Plus, it if I am not mistaken, it comes on Showtime right? I don't have Showtime.

The theme of the song isn't my cup of tea either. Serial Killer.

Othena yeah it comes on showtime. I don't have it either but we have netflix and I've been watching it through that.

Oh okay.

Tammy Walton Grant (tamgrant) Have any of you read the books? They are a bit different than the series -- Dexter is an unapologetic sociopath who suffers the fools of the world none too gladly. He is also a supreme wit - very sarcastic. IMO they have mellowed him out a bit for the tv show (which is still very good).

no, I've wondered about them. Aren't they called "Darling Dexter" or something like that? I need to seek them out.
I am a recent addict to this show. I watched seasons 1 & 2 in a week via netflix. The writing is so crisp. Dexter is so unlike any other character I've seen on tv. I love that he has his own 'code' and only kills murderers.
Have you noticed all the f-bombs the sister drops. ha My husband and I actually had a drinking game sunday when we watched. seems like there was something like 16 in just one episode. I use the f word also but sheesh...:)

Hi Othena, the first one is called Darkly Dreaming Dexter and I loved it. The premise was SO very different than anything I'd ever read, and Dexter is...well, completely unique. He narrates the books, and I laughed out loud a lot while reading it. I think, if I remember right, his sister has the same potty-mouth in the books.

Excellent idea for a drinking game - did you get bombed?

No,ha, I should have clarified that the drinking game was iced tea. At least that time :) I do have some wine coolers in fridge but they are over a year old.

It's interesting that the friend who finally convinced me to watch the show abhors profanity..she won't even say the word 'crap' but she loves this show.
Watching it via netflix I'm a season behind but I love spoilers so that's fine with me.

oh I know, isn't he gorgeous. He didn't catch my eye until I watched Emma on pbs.
I don't know what role he's playing. The only thing I can find just says he's going to be in season 5.
