Desperado (lethallovely) | 822 comments I was wondering if I could use an author from an anthology for my "A Author". There is like 13 short stories in the novel & at least two of the authors have first or last names that begin with A.

message 5: by Danielle (new)

Danielle (Smiley1881) Would Bloodfever count for the archeology category? The story is about a women in search of a book of black magic called Sinsar Dubh.

message 6: by Yz the Whyz, Moderator (new)

Yz the Whyz (whyz) | 9327 comments You might take a look at Alex Archer's Rogue Angel series. The heroine is an archeologist, almost like a Lara Croft.

Destiny (Rogue Angel, #1) by Alex Archer Solomon's Jar (Rogue Angel, #2) by Alex Archer The Spider Stone (Rogue Angel, #3) by Alex Archer and so on...

Quick, light reads.

Yes. I was also thinking of using any of Showalter's Lord of the Underworld books since they are also looking for some ancient artifact.

You beat me to it Yz--rhat was exactly what I was going to recommend for Germany. It is an exceptional book.

message 14: by Laura Lulu (new)

Laura Lulu (lauralulu) And for #6, Charles from Patricia Briggs' Alpha & Omega series is a Native American, as is Faith Hunter's Jane Yellowrock.

Actually, now that I think of it, doesn't Mercy Thompson also have NA blood? Her bio father was a Native American. As well as a coyote shifter. :)

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments How about The Reader? There's one that recently had a bit of attention with the movie and all.

message 22: by Mojca (new)

Mojca | 1414 comments I don't know if someone already mentioned it, but the heroine in Karen Rose's Die For Me is an archaeologist.

Also, Elisabeth Naughton's Stolen trilogy (Stolen Fury, Stolen Heat, Stolen Seduction) features archaeologists and/or searching for artifacts.

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments Yz, how did you pick Germany? Italy, France, Ireland, Greece, and Mexico seem to appear all the time. Germany? I already gave the assignment to the librarians.

If you want to understand the method in my madness, I pick the Geography categories based on where our members from this group are from using this thread. See the msg#2.

Laura Lulu (lauralulu) Lindy-Lane wrote: "How do you bold your font or underline it?"

Lindy, click on "(some html is ok)" above the top right corner of the text box. It tells you the html codes for bold, underline, italics & strike-through. You just add your text where the ... is.

Penny | 103 comments To read a book from a B-day celebrant it has to be a book that that person has read or can it be from their TBR's too?

message 37: by D.G. (last edited Jul 30, 2010 08:07AM) (new)

D.G. | 4477 comments Penny - As long as the book is in one of the birthday celebrant shelf (be it read, TBR, wishlist, etc.) I consider it good. :)

message 38: by Penny (new)

message 39: by Daffodil (new)

Daffodil (daffodil--ripcranberry) | 1058 comments Another archeology/Smithsonian suggestion is Elizabeth Lowell's Tell Me No Lies Tell Me No Lies by Elizabeth Lowell . An antiquites expert finds herself invovled in the investigation into artifact smuggling. I've reread this book quite a few times, it's one of my favorites.

I know is a stretch, but..., pretty please.
