message 1: by Kathrynn (new)

Kathrynn I just finished Morrigan's Cross (book #1) in The Circle Trilogy and enjoyed it.

Beautiful writing! I'm a sucker for flowing verbal skills and this had it. Made my toes curl... ;-)

Nice characters! All of them.

message 2: by Teryl (new)

Teryl This is a good series. My fav is the last one! I love Cian!

message 3: by Kathrynn (new)

Kathrynn I can't wait to read Cian/Cain's book. He was my favorite character in Morrigan's Cross.

message 4: by Teryl (new)

Teryl It is Cian, pronounced like keyann, it is Irish. Love that name! Nora thinks of some pretty good hero names.

message 5: by Collette (new)

Collette (vwbernie) | 8 comments This might be a trilogy that I regret trading. Oh well. I can always get it again. It was really good and a very fast read for me. I totally ignored most everyone while reading it so I wouldn't have to stop. lol

message 6: by Lindsay (new)

Lindsay (kelofmindelan) When I was reading those I got so mad that one came out each month because as soon as i finished one, I wanted to read the next one, and a month was way to l0ng to wait. Plus I had to wait until my mom was finished (although taht was only a day often)....

message 7: by Kathrynn (new)

Kathrynn I finished "Dance of the Gods" (book #2) and it was very good. Can't wait to read Cian's story. BTW in book #1 he went by both Cian and Cain--remember that he changed the letters around to blend in with present time...I noticed in book #2 he reverted back to Cian.

I laughed out loud at some of the comments the characters made in this one. Funny characters with very distinct personalities. I like that.

message 8: by Kathrynn (new)

Kathrynn Oh, in case anyone (like me) didn't notice the Glossary of Irish Words, Characters and Places in the back of the book--it's there.

I didn't see it until the end, then flipped through some phrases that are said in the book to catch their exact meaning.

FYI

message 9: by Toni (new)

Toni | 6 comments I did the same thing--didn't see it til the end, then flipped through to find pronunciations and meanings. I thought it was great that she included that in there. I think she did something similar with the Gallaghers series.

message 10: by Kathrynn (last edited Aug 06, 2008 05:47AM) (new)

Kathrynn Dang, book 3 is going too slow for me. I keep putting it down and doing other things. I'm on page 74...normally, I would be finished with a book by now...yikes.

A lot of talking, rehashing the past (books), shows the love of the others, vampires still killing, still preparing for war, still training and still making runs out in the "danger" area to scope out the vampires.

Maybe I should have read something different then come back to this book...

Does it pick up? Hard to tell with such mixed reviews. Some loved it, some were "eh," some hated it, some read it but not the previous in the series. And most didn't write a review but gave a star rating. (darn it!)

I was so looking forward to Cian's story, but he's in a "ho-hum" mood and now I am too. ;-)

message 11: by Miss Kim (new)

Miss Kim (thatsmisskimtoyou) I thought the third one was slow, too. My least favorite in this trilogy. I got irritated with Cian's charater. I couldn't see how the woman would want him so badly.

message 12: by Deborah (new)

Deborah I really enjoyed this trilogy. I was impressed with the topic Nora chose - Vampires. The characters were funny and the story was great.

message 13: by Gina (new)

Gina (ginrobi) | 40 comments I loved all three. I did find the last to be a bit on the slow side, but once the action really got started, holy cow! LOL!

What I truly adore about her novels is that all her characters have distinct personalities, making them all their own individuals. Kathrynn, I hope you won't be disappointed.

message 14: by Stacy (new)

Stacy | 41 comments I just finished Morrigan's Cross and i loved it! I thought it was such an intruiging story and you instantly fell inlove with the characters. I am impatiently waiting to read the next two books in the series. I can't wait to see what happens next!

message 15: by Jessica B (new)

Jessica B | 7 comments GREAT TRILOGY. My mom suggested these books to and I thought she was crazy. Apparently the crazy one was me! They were great. Cian's story was my favourite by far!

message 16: by Lisamarie (new)

Lisamarie I loved all the books. I normally don't re-read books, but this series I would.

message 17: by Yz the Whyz (last edited Mar 17, 2009 06:12PM) (new)

Yz the Whyz (whyz) | 13 comments I love this trilogy, and I adore Cian. His book is my favorite, and yes I almost cried, too.

message 18: by Emily (new)

Emily (imabrooks2) | 81 comments Cian broke my heart, All I could think when he left was what the Goddess Had promised Hoyt at the beginning and I got so mad it didn't happen , then of course she went to visit Cian, I think the end of the series was just right

message 20: by Sara (new)

Sara | 2 comments I loved this series. It's also great to come here and see so many people that loved Cian (glossery spelled it as KEY-an to pronounce) I actually loved the name and character so much that I named my puppy after him. I even sent an email thru Nora's website to get permission to name him based on this series ... and GOT A RESPONSE!

message 21: by Stacy (new)

Stacy | 41 comments I finally finished the series this past march ( i have two babies under two so it takes me a little while) and i loved them! I was surprised about the topic because that's not a topic that i thought Roberts would've ever written about. But enjoyed all three so much! I think i liked Cian and Moira's love story the best because you knew that i was going to get looked down upon but she didn't care anyways, and the ending was awesome!

message 22: by La-kesha (new)

La-kesha | 5 comments This was one of my favorite series. I loved Cain's character. I loved how they were able to back in time.

message 23: by Beth (new)

Beth | 16 comments I am just starting Morrigan's Cross. I have liked all the NRs books I have read so I have no doubt I'll enjoy this series too. I can't wait for the kids bedtime so I can read and relax!

message 24: by Jessica (new)

Jessica I loved the series I've read all three!

message 25: by Emily (new)

Emily (imabrooks2) | 81 comments Beth this one is really out of the box for nora but its still really great. I hope you enjoy it.

message 26: by Beth (new)

Beth | 16 comments I am loving these books! I read book 2 yesterday and I started book 3 today. This is out of the box for Nora, Emily but I'm enjoying them a great deal. I'm not sure I'm prepared for who is going to die in Valley of Silence of not, I'm such a crier.

message 27: by Jessica (new)

Jessica Book 3 is sooo good:)

message 28: by Yz the Whyz (new)

Yz the Whyz (whyz) | 13 comments I love the third book...I think the best of the three.

message 29: by Jessica (new)

Jessica It just ties them in altogether so well!

message 30: by Beth (new)

Beth | 16 comments I just finished the last book. It was awesome! I was happy when all six made it through the war and even more pleased with the ending. You all were right, the third book tied them all together and the ending was perfect. You have to love Nora!

message 31: by Jessica (new)

Jessica yah you do!

message 32: by Emily (new)

Emily (imabrooks2) | 81 comments Great series. THe end was wonderful. I am so glad you liked it Beth

message 33: by Jess (new)

Jess For some reason I couldn't get into this series. I'm not sure if I just wasn't in the mood, but I think I will have to go back and try it again at some point. I pretty much liked all of Robert's other books except for a select few.

message 34: by Beth (new)

Beth | 16 comments I didn't think I was going to be able to get into them either and almost took them back to the library right away. But I am glad that I pushed part way through the first one and was caught after that.

message 35: by Vanessa (new)

Vanessa (vanessamc) | 58 comments The first was did seem to drag a little, but I was glad I pushed through as well. The last book was my favorite and I loved the vampire slayer (can't remember her name though.) I also love the fact that Nora can write with such diversity. Some people claim she didn't write them all herself, but although there is variety, I see a similarity in the writing style that is all Nora. She takes chances and usually comes out on top.

Lizz (Beer, Books and Boos) I still have to read the last two but I'm liking it so far

It's a great trilogy. The first book is slow-going, but once you get to a certain point, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Yz, I totally agree with you about the 1st book. I thought I might be disappointed because it was a little slow in parts towards the beginning, but it quickly picked up as we met more of the characters. The 2nd book was better, and the last the book was outstanding!

message 44: by Jessica B (new)

Jessica B | 7 comments *Sigh* I was just reliving how much I loved this trilogy... I must pick it up again soon! :)

Mlpmom (Book Reviewer) (mlpmombookreviewer) This trilogy and the Three Sister are a tie for me. I loved them both a lot. The last ones in each series were both my favorites.

Just started this trilogy last night, and I am off to a running start. I could hardly put it down.
I'm only about 60 pages into Morrigan's Cross and I'm really enjoying Hoyt and the glimpses of Glenna. But so far Cian (or Cain) is leaving the biggest impression, very interesting vamp indeed.

Though I'm struggling with pronounciations of certain names and places, especially Hoyt and Cian's family name Mac Cionaoith.

message 47: by Vanessa (new)

Vanessa (vanessamc) | 58 comments Tayla,

You should really enjoy the whole series, then. I think the 1st is the slowest of the three, but still moves pretty good. The last one is my favorite, it's a nice ending to the trilogy.

Mlpmom (Book Reviewer) (mlpmombookreviewer) I think in the back of the book is a reference guide to all the names, at least it is that way with the Kindle version.

Cian's story is the best one I think, unfortunately it us also the last one, lol.

message 49: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (purplerose) I have read everything NR has written (with the exception of one paperback romance that's out of print and I can't get my hands on, and I have it on my list on paperbackswap.com), and while I love the McCades (especially the youngest one), Cian is my favorite male character. (In NR books. No one beats Roarke in the JDR books.)
I almost didn't read this series because I found it several years ago way back before I was inclined to read anything with vampires. I was getting the books from the library and the 3rd one happened to come in first. I read the back, saw it said something about a vampire and almost skipped the whole thing. I'm SO glad I didn't. And it's much, much tamer than the vampire stuff I read now. LOL

message 50: by Susan (new)

Susan Amanda what book are you missing? I have tons of hers maybe I have it!! :)
