Arch | 119 comments I will be moving my book blog, etc. from blogspot to Wordpress free service.

I have created an exercise blog about a month ago on blogspot. I would post about my workouts and last night after exercising I have gone to blogspot to post about my exercise and found out that my blog has been deleted.

Weeks ago, I have read where people were saying that their blogs have been deleted by blogspot, because of Spam.

People can report people's blog as spam. No one had my blog address yet, unless it popped up on googles and someone found it and reported it as spam or blogspot filter seen words on my blog and noted it as spam. I don't see where me talking about how good of an exercise that I have had as being spam.

A lot of people that had blogs for years have lost their blogs, because they were marked as spam. Blogspot doesn't have real life support, you will have to go to their forums to try and get support and the support sucks, because you can't really find a blogspot support person on there. Maybe one and if he looks at your thread.

I've should have listened to my inner voice that told me not to do my health blog on blogspot, but to do it on Wordpress instead. I have posted a post about an exercise on Wordpress and that same post to blogspot. Wordpress didn't delete my blog, but blogspot did.

I can't even get in touch with blogspot to try to get help. They have deleted my google account as well.

They so say they have reviewed my blog and seen that it was spam and that's why they deleted it.

I am just warning you all that it's possible that you will go to your blog one day and it will be deleted.

Blogspot owns everything you put on your blogspot and they can delete your blog anytime they want.

That really stinks. I'm sorry that happened to you, Arch. What a frightening thing to lose everything one has put into a blog. I'll be looking into what I can do to save mine before this happens. Those of us with blogs specifically for furthering our book sales can probably expect to be accused of spamming at some point. :o(

Thanx for sharing this with us.

Arch | 119 comments You are welcome Jaimey. I don't know if blogspot is deleting paid blogspot, but I know they are deleting free blogspot.

I hate that I have created my blog and put in all that work and have it deleted.

I'm not dealing with blogspot anymore. I will be moving my book blog.

Arch, did you have any music on your blogspot blog, by any chance? I found this article on the internet about Google deleting some blogs that had music on them, because of a fear of copyright infringement.

Your story is scary!

Arch | 119 comments No, Joyce, my blog was just about the exercises that I did.

I only had about 10 posts on my page.

I'm on Wordpress now and I'm not going back to Blogspot.

Ronda Hinrichsen | 14 comments Ugh! You know, this just happened to me a few days ago. They deleted my blog that's been up since 2007 and my google account which holds my entire newsletter email contacts list. I was sick. But after spending some time going through all their troubleshooting stuff, I ended up changing my password and that gave me everything back.

Arch | 119 comments Ronda, I can't even sign on. When I go to sign on, they take me to a page asking for my cell phone number. I'm not giving that out. I'm on Wordpress now and I'm happy, where I am at. I don't have time to play with blogspot. They shouldn't delete people's blog. They shouldn't email people and tell them that they have reviewed their blog and seen where it's a spam blog, when the blog is not. They should tell the person what exactally made their blog a spam blog.

Me talking about how much I liked a certain exercise, how long it was and the name of the exercise is not spam. Blogspot doesn't know what spam is.

I hope your blog doesn't get deleted again Ronda. If I am not mistaking, I have read where people blog was restored, just to have it be deleted again.

I like the fact that Wordpress lets you own your own work. Blogspot owns people work.

Ronda Hinrichsen | 14 comments Hmmmm. When you related your experience, I started to wonder about it happening again. Ugh. Do you know if you can transfer everything on your current blog to another address? Or would I have to start all over if I switched?

message 9: by Arch (new)

Arch | 119 comments I know that you can transfer your blogspot information to Wordpress. I haven't done it yet. I hope that a person can transfer their free blogspot account to the free Wordpress account.

Some people don't use Wordpress free account. They use Wordpress paid account, for self hosting.

I think that blogspot has self hosting as well.

Wordpress free account is limited. I mean, you can't revise the page, like you can revise blogspot themes. Like change the font size, color, etc. Well, not in the free version. But, I am okay with that. I just need a regular blog.

You can change your header picture though.

I'm not trying to get anyone to leave blogspot. I just had that bad experience and I don't trust blogspot. I still have my book blog on there. Hopefully they will not delete that blog.

Miss Mae | 73 comments I had heard about this happening a couple of months ago.

In any case, I deleted my Blogger blog, and now use the blog that comes with my website. I like that so much better. It has all the features that Blogspot does except for the "followers", but I can have a "members" page and I enjoy that MUCH better!

Sorry you lost your blog, but am happy to hear you are enjoying the WordPress. :)

Arch | 119 comments Yes Miss, Wordpress is better.
