Most places short of mansions don't use the term lounge as often anymore, so depends on the book but living room might work. I think of lounge as a type of sitting room, but I think my british fiance refers to my living room as a lounge. So go for it.

Oh yeah I'm in and I will get my list together"
;) we have the Simpson game too!

These are all YA books, but they may help. Most by A.E. Parker
Here's two more that might help. It's a candalabra not a single candlestick but close enough. And here's one for rope as it shows a noose.

I'm reading that too Marisa. Considering the size of the library in that book. Definetly. :) Granted it's not a traditional library in a mansion but it'll still work.

Well, then I think I'll reread it. I liked a lot the book when I read it the first time, a lot of years ago.

Your welcome Vicky. I love board games and this one just lends itself to our cozy mysteries group and begged to be a challenge. :)

These are the ones I got so far just from my TBR pile. Some of them might change, as I find new books that look more interesting. :)

Library - The Red House Mystery by A.A. Milne.
If the name sounds familiar it's because he wrote Winnie the Pooh.
His dedication reads: My dear Father, Like all really nice people, you have a weakness for detective stories, and feel that there are not enough of them. So, after all that you have done for me, the least that I can do for you is write you one. Here it is: with more gratitude and affection than I can well put down here. A. A. M.
Originally published in 1922 it's a classic in the vein of Agatha Christie.

Thank you, I've got it for the state challenge, and perhaps October LOL

New Jersey and Autumn yes, Clue now you've mentioned it and for October, well, I had "Charmed to Death", that I used for Iowa, but with this I cover two points (witches and ghosts :D )
Sorry Valorie, but a poker table isn't a billiard table. I have alot of books with poker in them too, but they don't qualify. But remember, you only need to fill half the rooms not all of them to complete the challenge. I thought this might be one of the harder rooms, finding a book with a scene in a billiard room (or on the cover).
For billiard room, if you like historical romances I have a very easy book: Mary Jo Putney's "Thunder and Roses", I can tell you that the billiard table is quite important LOL

The main 'hole in the wall' that keeps opening up is in the hallway.
Note: This is a 'renovated haunted house' book. I learned thing about repairing homes I didn't know. Nice cozy.

Thanks Marisa. I ordered it off PBS. :)

I looked for that one on PBS and was first on the waiting list but they had no idea when it would come in so went for the one that was available now.

NOTICE: I'm going to make a small change to the rules. For weapons the name of the weapon may also be in the title. I'd say that for rooms as well but don't really need to since if it's in the title a scene is guaranteed to take place there in the book so it already would qualify. I'll add the change to the original first post of the rules. Hopefully this will help a least a little.

Diane ~Firefly~ wrote: "Do pool tables at a bar count for a "billiard room"?"
Considering how hard a proper billiard room is to find (ie rich mansion with a room dedicated to a billiard table), I'd say that's close enough to count Diane. I think technically a pool table has pockets and a billiard table doesn't, but it's close enough.
