I had fun reading the one we had with my oldest son. We both tried to solve them. I managed to find just one other so hoping we can do it again as we read that one. Unfortunately my library (and the school libraries) don't have any of them.

Your welcome Lisa. I love board games and thought it would translate nicely into a reading challenge for us.

You can use short stories or novella's. You can even use a YA/Children's book as well as many of the Clue mystery books are classified as that.

Well, my Clue game has been a lonely game (no friends or family to play it), so iPhone game has been right. Thank you by reminding it to me (that and trivial, I'm going to enjoy them a lot).

Clue Characters:
Miss Scarlet (a red piece)
Colonel Mustard (a yellow piece)
Mrs. White (a white piece)
Mr. Green (a green piece)
Mrs. Peacock (a blue piece)
Professor Plum (a purple piece)

Weapons:
Dagger/Knife
Candlestick
Revolver
Rope A Touch of Minx by Suzanne Enoch
Lead Pipe
Wrench/Spanner Dead Cat Bounce by Sarah Graves

Rooms (5 of 10):
Kitchen
Ballroom
Conservatory
Dining Room
Billard Room
Library
Study
Hall
Lounge
Cellar/Stairs

BONUS #1: Read a book based on the actual game Clue. Example:
BONUS #2: Play the board game with family and/or friends.
BONUS #3: Watch the movie CLUE

I watched the movie just before christmas, I knew I had seen it before but years ago. Great film..

Read a book where someone on the cover is wearing the same color clothes as the clue character. (ie a red dress, a green suit, etc. Outfit on cover does not have to be specifically a dress or suit, as long as the person on the cover is prodominately dressed in the color.) Read one book for each person.
Miss Scarlet: Club Dead by Charlaine Harris 1/27/2011
Colonel Mustard (a yellow piece)
Mrs. White (a white piece)
Mr. Green (a green piece)
Mrs. Peacock: From Dead to Worse by Charlaine Harris 2/2/2011
Professor Plum (a purple piece)
Weapons:
Read a book where either one of the following weapons is pictured on the cover, specifically named in the title, or was used to murder someone in the book. Read one book for each weapon.
Dagger/Knife: Parker Pyne Investigates by Agatha Christie 1/17/2011 [on the bus, man is stabbed in the upper neck]
Candlestick
Revolver: Ten Little Indians by Agatha Christie 1/14/2011 [Philip Lombard shot by Vera Claythorne on the beach]
Rope: Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris 1/18/2011 [Maudette, Dawn, Amy killed by Rene with rope]
Lead Pipe
Wrench/Spanner
Rooms:
Read a book with one the following rooms pictured on the cover, specifically named in the title, or featured prominately in the plot. The room doesn't have to be the main place the story takes place but if the characters just walk through the room once it isn't enough to count. If an entire scene takes place in the room, then it's enough to qualify. Choose 5 of the 10. (Some will be harder, so you don't have to find them all unless you want to.)
Kitchen: A Murder is Announced by Agatha Christie 1/25/2011
Ballroom: Definitely Dead by Charlaine Harris 1/28/2011
Conservatory
Dining Room: The Thirteen Problems by Agatha Christie 1/4/2011
Billard Room
Library: The Body in the Library by Agatha Christie 1/6/2011
Study: Murder at the Vicarage by Agatha Christie 1/16/2011
Hall: Sleeping Murder by Agatha Christie 1/11/2011
Lounge
Cellar/Stairs: The Mirror Crack’d by Agatha Christie 1/8/2011

BONUS #2: Play the board game with family and/or friends.
BONUS #3: Watch the movie CLUE starring Tim Curry, Eileen Brennan, Lesley Ann Warren, Michael McKean, Christopher Lloyd, Madeline Kahn, and Martin Mull.

Thats great thank you Lisa!! ;)

In modern times, the basement is what in older times would have been referred to as the cellar. Nowadays they would call it a "wine cellar", but my grandmother's cellar was just the dirt floor basement where food was stored. Go for it.

I can't find it anywhere either. It's incredibly expensive on Amazon, only available used for over $20 or something and it's been on my wishlist for half a year or more on PBS and I havn't moved in position at all as I don't think a single copy has become available since I went on the wishlist.

My list:22/22!

There are also some cheaper copies on www.bookfinder.com
"
thanks for sharing that, it's really helped

Technically, I believe that's a bookshop not a library. Not sure if there is a library in the book or not as I havn't read it yet. I do believe the original rules stated that the room or weapon in question could be in the title, on the cover, or featured in the book. I'd go ahead and give that to you for library though. Close enough.

Sorry Andrea. For this particular challenge, we're looking for a person wearing the color in question so that it resembles the board game characters. However, that being said, the person can be tiny on the cover and it doesn't have to be huge. I keep forgetting to check my covers for this challenge. I have to go back over some I've read recently and see what fits.
