October - What are you reading?

Oh, I liked it, for sure, but the two I mentioned, especially Kiss an Angel, really had me going through an emotional rollercoaster:-)
I just finished Ilona Andrews'

The latest is The Name of the Wind which is just phenomenal...I'll write a review about it when I have some time.
Now I'm reading a historical romance: One Dance with a Duke.

I'm currently reading

Hi D.G., I just finished that one, what do you think of it?

So far I'm not impressed. Maybe it's because my last historical had a very similar premise: plain, plump (read: buxom), spinster conquests most desirable bachelor. Also the hero seems to be too much of a jerk.
But maybe I'll get better. I'm just 100 pgs. in.

****SPOILER****
The ass**** cheated on her! Not once, not twice, but over and over! And with two different women!!! And the worst????HE NEVER F***ING APOLOGIZES!!!!!!! No groveling, nothing! I get it. He has problems. He was in love with his now dead Indian girlfriend. Ok. But what kind of romance is this??? yeah, the sex was hot, but seriously? Oz never talks to Isolde about his past, and he's sooo convinced that she's cheating on him, that the baby isn't his.. And did I mention that he DOESN'T APOLOGIZE?????... AAAAArgh!!! What a terrible romance! I liked the first half ok, but after he first leaves her, I felt only disgust with the hero, and with that lily-livered heroine.. Seriously? She sleeps with him again while they're separated??? AAAAAAAAAArrrrgh!!!
***END SPOILER/RANT****
Please please tell me that her other books are better! I have a whole bunch of them and now I'm debating whether to give them away without having read them!

****SPO..."
I used to read a lot of Susan Johnson's books when I was younger, and she was like a guilty pleasure for me. However, I only like her historicals. Somehow, I don't like her contemporaries at all, and her later works just feels flat.

Please tell me that her other books are better? Which was your favorite? I only have historicals:

If any others have a unrepentant cheating hero, please oh please let me know! That'll teach me to buy the backlist of an author I've never read before!

LOL....Her heroes are pretty much man-sluts. It's like reading soft porn...LOL
I think I've read the first 5 books in your list. I like Brazen (that's part of the Braddock-Black series, which I thoroughly enjoyed). The St. John-Duras series is okay. I've tried reading Force of Nature a long time ago, but couldn't finish it. My favorite is her Russian (Kuzan) series. But its not PC at all...if you know what I mean.

It looks like I need to retract what I said, Devil in Winter is the one that is my favorite. I don't know what I was thinking, I confused the two..."
No Julie. Of the five books, Devil in Winter was my least favorite.

Melanie, I've read quite a few Susan Johnson awhile ago so I don't remember every one but I know I really liked

Thx for the info Fran! I'll know which to read now:-) I'm also going through BHB, it's hilarious!!!!

I just started BHB but so far it is really funny- those ladies surprised me with their cursing!

OH, you're in for a treat! I ordered the last book off BD, and I can't wait to receive it (hopefully before this weekend!)!!!! I'm thinking of doing my third reread in six months of the first four books to have them fresh in my mind:-)
@Fran: I know, they're hilarious! I think one of my fave quotes was [talking about the hero's job]: "Danger can make any job sexy. Except proctology. Dangerous proctology makes us all want to curl up in a tiny ball and cry" LOL
