Marybeth (narutofan14) I finished Black Dawn (The Morganville Vampires, #12) by Rachel Caine absolutely loved it. I am now trying to finish Wonder by R.J. Palacio and i plan on starting Waterfall (River of Time, #1) by Lisa Tawn Bergren or Bitter Blood (The Morganville Vampires, #13) by Rachel Caine but i am not sure which one i will start yet. I have also started Summerland by Elin Hilderbrand and while i have only just started the book is a lot better than i thought it would be. :)

Jenny (juliababyjen) Andrea wrote: "I'm reading These Broken Stars (Starbound, #1) by Amie Kaufman"

LOVED this book!

message 1259: by Jenny (new)

Jenny (juliababyjen) Recent reads:

Bone Gap by Laura Ruby 5 star read, LOVED it! It reminded me a bit of a Maggie Stiefvater book, like the Raven Boys or The Scorpio Races.

Ignite Me (Shatter Me, #3) by Tahereh Mafi 3 stars, I was very underwhelmed by the finale to this series. It became all about Warner and Adam, and I just got to the point where I just didn't care anymore. It definitely needed more action.

The Sound of Music Story How A Beguiling Young Novice, A Handsome Austrian Captain, and Ten Singing von Trapp Children Inspired the Most Beloved Film of All Time by Tom Santopietro 4 stars, very fun read! I LOVE this movie and Julie Andrews, and this was great fun to learn all about the real Von Trapps, and how the movie was made :)

Challenger Deep by Neal Shusterman 5 stars, LOVED this book, although it was hard to read at times. Those poor kids!

Keeping the Castle by Patrice Kindl (reread) 4.5 stars, enjoyed this one just as much the second time! Its a Jane Austen type of "spoof", just hilarious!

The Wicked Will Rise (Dorothy Must Die, #2) by Danielle Paige 4 stars. I was on the fence on the first book. I loved the second half of it, but saw lots of room for improvement. I'm glad I kept reading, this sequel is way better than the first!

Currently reading now: Eldest (The Inheritance Cycle, #2) by Christopher Paolini (reread) The Vision by Dean Koontz End of Days (Penryn and the End of Days, #3) by Susan Ee The Crown (Queen of Hearts, #1) by Colleen Oakes

Julia | 432 comments I didn't care for My Life With The Walter Boys by Ali Novak My Life With The Walter Boys by Ali Novak on a whole lot of levels.

I liked Brundibar by Tony Kushner by Tony Kushner & Maurice Sendak, but I don't recommend it to everyone. It's a picture book, but probably not most enjoyed by little ones.

Then I read a time travel novel that I liked a lot Failed Moments by A. Robert Allen Failed Moments by A. Robert Allen .

Last I read a play by S. Ansky called "The Dybbuk" from 1926 in English, but that version isn't on Goodreads. A dybbuk is Jewish folklore, it's a ghost that possesses a person.

Next up to read is The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender by Leslye Walton by Leslye Walton.

message 1261: by Jenny (new)

Jenny (juliababyjen) I've heard great things about Ava Lavender, I really need to read that one!

OMG yes! I've read the first two novels and I love it! What are your thoughts regarding the series?

message 1276: by Winnie (new)

Winnie | 4 comments Sadly I'm too preoccupied with work and school lately to read through any of the books I like. I've been trying to get Red Queen finished and started on Carry On.

message 1277: by Carolyn (new)

Carolyn | 106 comments Red Queen is so good. If you don't finish it, you will regret it later.

message 1278: by Amaya (new)

Amaya (bulletproofjasmine) | 5 comments Winnie wrote: "OMG yes! I've read the first two novels and I love it! What are your thoughts regarding the series?"

I've been loving it sooooo hard!! The love between the two main characters is not instantaneous so it's interesting to see how they get there. Also, they're such complicated characters that no one can say that they're completely bad or completely good so it keeps things really interesting and I haven't put the book down since I started it. Have you read the last book? I don't actually know if it's already out though...

message 1279: by Carolyn (new)

Carolyn | 106 comments I finished Red Queen last night. OMG, if you haven't read it, you NEED to read Red Queen. The second book is out. I need my mom to get me that book from her library. Red Queen is a slow start, but will eventually pull you in and will never let go. I just read the first page of A Body in the Woods by April Henry. Seems interesting.

There will be 4 winners! . And what’s more, you’ll be choosing. I’ll ask the winner which book they would prefer and I’ll send it to them.
Since, I can’t pick out winners from the thousands of people in the various groups and pages, I’ll be picking them out from my ‘followers’ list.
Therefore, don’t forget to Follow me on Goodreads. Here: https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/9...
This would be all you’d have to do to win. Good Luck! :)

message 1297: by Robert (new)

Robert Carlile | 1 comments I am reading an old book, The Beach, by Alex Garland. Fascinating story set in Thailand. 30 twentysomethigs from around the world (England, America, Israel, Yugoslavia, etc.) form a colony on a remote beach, shielded from observation from sea and air. They set up a quasi government, with a woman Sal leading the group. The leaders have strange names like Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck. It appears to be a Uptopia but I'm sure we will soon see conflict. Otherwise it would be a dull story.

message 1298: by Carolyn (new)

Carolyn | 106 comments Six of Crows is so awesome right now.

message 1299: by Marguerite (M) (new)

Marguerite (M) I am reading Wintersong, and I am really liking it. It gives a fairy tale, magical feeling. But i should have gone with the title, and read it when it is cold out there !

Carolyn | 106 comments I am reading the last book in the Winner's Trilogy, The Winners Kiss. Marie Rutkoski lives up to my expectations with her last to books and is doing an amazing job with this book.
