Chloe (chloebooklover) I am currently reading Crescendo (Hush, Hush, #2) by Becca Fitzpatrick

message 52: by Tatiana (new)

Tatiana ^Thanks for the tip about FirstReads, Mona. I had no idea that was there, but it's great. :)

I'm reading The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger because I read most of it some time ago, and I don't know what happened, but I didn't quite finish it.

message 53: by Nathan (new)

Nathan Right now I have a whole pile of books to read. Most of them are YA, but some are from other book clubs. I am currently finishing off Crescendo by Becca Fitpatrick. Then I will be reading The Younget Templar.

I also won Tarizon: Conquet Earth in Firstreads so I should probably read that soon too.

Im probably losing your interest so I won't list the other books. Basically my whole to-read shelf.

Haha, enjoy Graceling Karla =) Very religious book. Be prepared for a faceful of unbeleivers undies ^.^

Kelly RAley (kraley) | 101 comments I just started Devil's Kiss by Sarwat Chadda. It's ok so far. It is a bit predictable and the protagonist's head talk is annoying.

Antonia | 8 comments currently reading the forest of hands and teeth. It seems pretty good.

message 66: by Ronica (new)

Ronica Stromberg | 5 comments I just finished "Crossing the Tracks" by Barb Stuber. Great book, beautifully written. About a teen girl in the 1920's who's sent away to earn her keep after her mother dies of tuberculosis. Interesting peek at life for teens in years past. How do I recommend this book for our reading list?

message 67: by Tatiana (new)

Tatiana (tatiana_g) Ronica, just post it here:

Angela Sunshine (angelasunshine) Antonia wrote: "currently reading the forest of hands and teeth. It seems pretty good."

I liked it, not loved it. But when I read the next book in the series, The Dead-Tossed Waves, it made me like the first book much more! I'm looking forward to the third book, The Dark and Hollow Places.

message 71: by Chloe (new)

Chloe (chloebooklover) Finished Wanted (Pretty Little Liars, #8) by Sara Shepard and Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver - both 5 stars :D Now I'm reading Linger (The Wolves of Mercy Falls, #2) by Maggie Stiefvater - let's hope it's good!

message 72: by Jen (new)

Jen Halligan (bookandlatte) | 13 comments I'm overwhelmed with books right now. I usually only read and/or listen to one book at a time (so technically 2 at a time but one read at night, and other listen off and on during the day). However, my hold list at the library keeps rolling in the books. So now I'm reading 3 books, listening to 1, and 2 are waiting for me at the library to pick up! Here's my list:

I'm reading Incarceron, Citizen Coors: A Grand Family Saga of Business, Politics, and Beer, The Clan of the Cave Bear: with Bonus Content. Also, listening to The Host.

And The Hunger Games is FINALLY waiting for me at the library, along with Frostbite (Vampire Academy, #2). Can't wait to get to these two!

message 73: by Tatiana (new)

Tatiana (tatiana_g) Reading now

StarCrossed (Thief Errant, #1) by Elizabeth C. Bunce

message 74: by Deborah (new)

Deborah The Beekeeper's Apprentice The Beekeeper's Apprentice (Mary Russell, #1) by Laurie R. King

Really happy I checked it out. I was in a reading rut, the two other books I'm reading I can't seem to get into. This book it was instantaneous and it's the first book of a series!!! That makes me really happy.

message 75: by Scribble (new)

Scribble Orca (scribbleorca) Still on Sherlock, just started two not-YA: On Literature
and
The Lemon Tree: An Arab, a Jew, and the Heart of the Middle East.

I'm looking forward to the mid teen/YA books people have been recommending me. I'm not too sure yet whether I'll progress onto The Windup Girl - The Calorie Man was so-so, but I think that's more to do with me as a reader than Bacigalupi as a writer.

I LOVE Before I Fall, it's seriously one of the most touching novels I've ever read. I still get depressed and awed at its beauty whenever I think about it, even though it's been ages since I reads it.

What's your take on this? Worth buying?

message 87: by Tatiana (new)

Tatiana (tatiana_g) Roshini, Split is a very good book. Worth buying? IDK. It depends on your buying rules. I only buy books that I plan to reread, the rest I borrow from my library. This was a library rental.

Deborah Reading Aunt Dimity's Death. Really cute story.

I find that I tend to re-read series before the new installment comes out. And very few favorites. Normally it happens not more often than once a year. I do not re-read very much though. There are so many new books I want to read!

message 94: by Roshini (new)

Roshini Tatiana, that's what I used to do, but the book rental places here don't stock a lot of YA so I end up buying them all! Will look for Split the next time I'm at the bookstore. Thanks for the recommendation!

message 95: by Angela Sunshine (new)

Angela Sunshine (angelasunshine) I'm just starting Godless on my son's recommendation. Also about done with Shade on audiobook.
