It's AMAZING!!! I'm pretty much drowning in coursework, but I just can't stop reading...

message 207: by Kritika (new)

Kritika (spidersilksnowflakes) I'm reading Going Bovine by Libba Bray. It's so different from her Gemma Doyle books! It's funny, but it also seems really crazy and slapped together in a haphazard way... I'm not liking it very much so far.

Rachel Alice | 49 comments I've read a lot of Poirots, but never the Mystery of the Blue Train, is it good?

My sister was raving about a book called the Shifter by Janice Hardy, so I'm giving it a go. It's way better than I expected it to be.

Stormi (StormReads) (bmreviewsohmy) | 24 comments I finally got my fever books, pluse other in the mail today!!! Only been waiting like all month due to snowy conditions. :) I really want to read Faefever right now, but I am in the middle of too many books right now..but not sure if I can hold out..hehehe

Kat (A Journey In Reading) (ajourneyinreading) Starting Delirium tonight............ Loved Before I Fall, I hope this is one is as good.

message 222: by Deborah (new)

Deborah Rachel, I haven't started it yet. I'm reading them in order, I loved The Murder of Roger Ackroyd The Murder of Roger Ackroyd by Agatha Christie . I'm looking forward to The Blue Train, Poirot is so full of himself!

message 223: by Rachel Alice (new)

Rachel Alice | 49 comments I liked that one too, I would have never guessed who done it. The murder mystery where the narrator is the killer is one of the things that Agatha Christie practically invented, along with the 'people-stuck-in-isolated-place-and-one-of-them-is-a-murderer' situation from And Then There Were None that has been used in so many movies it's cliche.

My favourite Poirots are The ABC Murders by Agatha Christie and Murder on the Links by Agatha Christie

Stormi (StormReads) (bmreviewsohmy) | 24 comments You know I have never read any Agatha Christie books. I probably should I like mystery books.

message 225: by Deborah (new)

Deborah Sadly, I think I am one of the few who didn't like And Then There Were None. I am just about a quarter through The Mystery of the Blue Train and the death has just occurred, as well as Poirot himself.

message 227: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (snugshelf) I'm reading Both Sides of Time by Caroline B. Cooney , The Yearling by Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings , Magyk (Septimus Heap, #1) by Angie Sage (ebook), Safe from the Past A Story of Hope, Faith and Determination by Patricia Miller Mauro (First read)

I have problems with reading way too many books at one time. :) But I have my library book, book borrowed from a friend, ebook, and book I won and should review. So I feel the need to read them alllll, right now. Both Sides of Time is good so far, about a girl who finds loooove in two centuries hah (time travel) :). And Safe from the Past is really interesting & inspiring.

I've read a few of Christie mysteries, and I don't think The Mystery of the Blue Train is her best.

message 236: by Deborah (new)

Deborah Actually ended up in the middle of Revolution Revolution by Jennifer Donnelly and am really drawn into the story line of the diary.

Life As We Knew It is on hold for a while.

Rachel Alice | 49 comments Deborah wrote: "Sadly, I think I am one of the few who didn't like And Then There Were None. I am just about a quarter through The Mystery of the Blue Train and the death has just occurred, as well as..."

I can't say I actually enjoyed And Then There Were None, it's one of the few books I've read that have genuinely scared me.

It is. If you liked first 2 books, you'll like this one.

message 240: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm reading Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins. Incredible book so far. :)

message 241: by Deborah (new)

Deborah Okay....I actually finished both. Life as we knew it was an incredibly fast read. I enjoyed it and am disturbed and hope to never have to live like that. Onward to The Chrysalids The Chrysalids by John Wyndham .

It was mentioned in the Goodreads group What's The Name of That Book??? and I was intrigued. We shall see. I seem to be on a death and destruction world gone mad, insane, and/or falling all around me streak.

message 242: by Rachel Alice (last edited Feb 23, 2011 10:15AM) (new)

Rachel Alice | 49 comments I love the Chrysalids, it's one of my favourite books ever.

message 243: by Julia (new)

Julia | 432 comments It appears that I haven't read The Chrysalids, so thanks, but I loved the author's The Day of the Triffids by John Wyndham .

message 244: by Rachel Alice (new)

Rachel Alice | 49 comments I like that one too, the premise of everybody going blind and being eaten by carnivorous plants is ridiculous, but it still works out as a really great book.

I've read almost all of John Wyndham's books, he's one of my favourite authors. The one complaint I have is that he seems (or seemed actually, he's dead) to have trouble ending his novels; that's one of the reasons the Chrysalids is my favourite of his, it has the most complete ending.

message 245: by tesni (new)

tesni (akhmatova) Wait for Me by An Na by An Na.

message 246: by Ann (new)

Ann (annabell123) | 45 comments I am reading The Body Finder, Catching Fire, and My Soul to Steal. I normally don't read more than one at a time, but I need to read The Body Finder for a challenge in another group, I am reading Catching Fire with a buddy, and My Soul to Steal I started on my nook because I was waiting somewhere and hate standing around!

message 247: by Chloe (new)
