Sherry (directorsherry) | 434 comments Why not? You are reading them. I think it's your choice.

Tim Weakley | 396 comments I've counted re-reads. Graphic novels...for me that depends. I never counted the majority of them but when I read Maus I: A Survivor's Tale: My Father Bleeds History I did because it felt very literary.

Paola (paolareads13) | 33 comments no because you've already read them its not fair its like cheating

Kathleen (missbelgravia) | 205 comments There aren't any rules, and it's completely up to each person to decide what to count. This is a personal challenge. I've certainly counted re-reads, but I'm old enough that several decades have passed since I read some of them the first time. Quite a difference between reading "Great Expectations" at 12 and at 55.

Heather (heather-sp) I disagree that it's like cheating. I doubt you skim-read them, or read them any quicker than you otherwise would have had you not read them before, so I don't think there's a problem with including them. I've re-read a number of books this year but have been as thorough as I was when I first read them.

Sherry (directorsherry) | 434 comments I don't think it's cheating -- because nobody is being cheated. I'm re-reading Little Women -- and it's definitely been quite a while. I was about 9 when I read it the first time. I might have re-read it in college but I don't really remember if it was required in American Lit or not. So, as long as I want to say I count it. I count it.

Laurie Mcgregor | 1 comments Rereads should totally count! It's still a book that you're reading - shouldn't matter if you'd already read it before. Especially if you're re-reading something you read when you were younger...you've probably forgotten a lot of it!

message 9: by Kimathy (new)

Kimathy I counted a lot of re-reads, except those that I was reading twice this year, and I think Graphic Novels should count.
