Have you ever tossed a book across a room? If so, if you don't mind, share which book it was. If you want to, you can tell us why you've thrown that book across the room.

I have never tossed a book that I was reading across the room, but I did read where readers admitted to throwing a book that they were reading across the room.

lol, a lot of readers now own ereaders. I'm sure if a book gets to them, they will not throw their ereader across the room. They might delete the book.

I have NOT tossed a book across the room. If I didn't like it then I will donate or trade it away. I try to keep my books in good shape. Although, I have received a few that look like they may have been tossed.

Jessa ♥ EvilDarkSide (metalgirl80) I tossed Echo in the Bone across the room. I couldn't believe the cliffhanger she left us with....and seeing that we have to wait 2-3yrs before the next one, it was totally unfair. The Outlander series is my all-time favorite but they are pure torture!

lol, I hope I never come to the point where I toss a book across the room.

I tend to donate books too.

Akaria Gale | 59 comments It doesn't happen often but Dead and Gone made a satisfying thud as it flew into the wall. The fates of certain beloved characters was tragic and terrible. I disliked the whole fairy thing since day one and found the big bad fairy war poorly done. Sookie getting tortured finally ended my love affair with Bon Temps. Also, nine books later and the first person POV was getting boring. I'm sick of being in Sookie's head.

Arch | 4246 comments Mod
I don't really care for first person pov.

Dead and Gone was not my favorite either, Akaria.

I haven't done that in a while. I wanted to toss Prophecy of the Sisters very hard though!

message 9: by Akaria (new)

Akaria Gale | 59 comments You have it a one star Lady D? You *never* do that! It must be pretty bad.

message 10: by Debbie (new)

Debbie (halfpint66) | 272 comments I've never actually done it but have thought about it a few times. One book that made me want to do it was OUTLANDER by Diana Gabaldon. I never finished it.

message 11: by Tammy (new)

Tammy Walton Grant (tamgrant) I am (almost) ashamed to admit I did throw a book in disgust. In my defence it was only off the bed and onto floor a few feet away, but if the room had been bigger I'da chucked it harder.

A Loving Scoundrel, by Johanna Lindsay.

Oh, that book sucked.

message 12: by ~Megan~ (new)

~Megan~ (megadee) | 1084 comments Mod
Oh Debbie!! Thank goodness I am not alone! I thought I was the only one who didn't like Outlander.

message 13: by Arch (new)

lol Tammy.

lol Sabrina, make sure anything that can bust the computer screen isn't near you.

message 15: by Serena (new)

Serena | 31 comments Okay I confess, I've thought about throwing a book across the room but never done it. I have, in fact though, gave it a mere toss across the bed or shove across the table :-). I don't have an e-reader but I do listen to audiobooks on my ipod and the same rule applies. I will not be throwing, tossing, or shoving IT anywhere lol.

message 16: by Arch (new)

Arch | 4246 comments Mod
lol Serena.

message 17: by AH (new)

AH | 14 comments I put books that irritate me in the time out corner. I take a break from them and hope they get better.

message 18: by Akaria (new)

Akaria Gale | 59 comments Love the idea of a time out corner for books! Has any book from the time out corner gotten better?

Serena | 31 comments Akaria wrote: "Love the idea of a time out corner for books! Has any book from the time out corner gotten better?"

lol, good question! I don't suppose they've learned their lesson probably until the series is complete (if there is one). If not...well, I guess their in perpetual lock down into further notice lol

Akaria, you are correct. I rarely give one stars, and it was a one star book for me. :(

message 21: by Othena (new)

Othena I tossed Tidings of Great Joy by Sandra Brown across room but then later retrieved it because I have a Sandra Brown shelf in my bookcases and I just buried it in the stack.
Years ago I remember reading and tossing A Woman's Place by Barbara Delinsky . I don't even remember why I hated it I just know that to this day if I see the cover I get a strong reaction.

I'm sure there are others. I just can't think of them.

I agree! Couldn't toss it (it weighed too much!) but I felt like it!!!

I confess I checked out every single book listed above as a tosser...kind of like seeing a car wreck on the side of the road . . .

message 23: by Zee (new)

Zee Monodee (zee_monodee) | 688 comments I've never 'tossed' but I have thumped books down very hard. :)

This seems to happen every time I try to read a Stephanie Plum book beyond Book 5 and I find her limbo-eing between Morelli and Ranger yet again!

message 24: by Gemma (new)

Gemma (bookmoodreviews) | 241 comments Night Huntress (Sisters of the Moon, #5) was a book I threw across the room for the complete character change of one of the male characters. I've not read any in the series since. Shame cos I quite liked that series

message 25: by Zee (new)

Zee Monodee (zee_monodee) | 688 comments Oh, I forgot Tongue In Chic (Fortune Hunter, #2) by Christina Dodd ! I really threw that one across the bed 'coz it so didn't make sense! It felt like the author just took the reader for a total ride, the way the heroine just ditzed her way through. Halfway and I could never go back to that story!

I forgot I lightly tossed these books:

Nothing Denied (Albright Sisters #3) by Jess Michaels (surprise butt sex-hate that!)

Color Blind Loving Jiro and Lakota Anthology by Jordyn Tracey (heroine is in abusive relationship, which is described in disgusting detail, and surprise butt sex-yuck!)

message 27: by Gemma (new)

Gemma (bookmoodreviews) | 241 comments There is Butt sex in Nothing Denied (Albright Sisters #3)????

Funny there is also supernatural butt sex in Lyonwhich was a bit wierd.

message 28: by Gemma (new)

Gemma (bookmoodreviews) | 241 comments ooh and I did throw Twilightacross the room because it got SOOOO Slow!

message 29: by Gemma (new)

Gemma (bookmoodreviews) | 241 comments oh and there is also A Lick of Frostacross the room for the total cop out at the end!

Yes, there is. I found that out the hard way. :(

message 31: by Gemma (last edited Dec 22, 2010 05:48AM) (new)

Gemma (bookmoodreviews) | 241 comments lol, a bit of a double entendre there!

I think i'm getting immune to that stuff. Once you find yourself turning a book trying to work out how the heck three people, two of which are over six feet tall can have a three-some in a limo, your mind can blank out the icki stuff. lol!

PS, does anyone who has read the lord of satyr books get the image of a little alien thing with a sucker when they talk about the second ding-dong???

message 32: by Danielle The Book Huntress , Loves 'Em Lethal (new)

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 9851 comments Mod
Bless you, Gem. I can't deal with that stuff. Bleh! I've read the reviews for the Lords of Satyr books. Too weird for me. I like weird, but I can't handle weird sex at all.

Michelle (dejameek) | 2 comments Two books, Dreamfever and Sexy As Hell. Seriously KMM? You ended it like that? And the hero in SAH just torqued me off so bad I just went KA-POW! TAKE THAT SCUMBAG! LOUSY, LAZY, DRUNK-ASS CHEATING BASTARD! So, yeah.

message 35: by La La (new)

La La | 132 comments I have an ereader so I can't throw books, but I can delete. I deleted Switch by Megan Hart. I love, love, love her books. I will stay up all night reading because I can't put down, but this book was horrible. I didn't get it and I hated all the characters. They were so not worth a book.

message 36: by Arch (new)

Arch | 4246 comments Mod
Wow Lashell! That was money wasted. Of course, if the book was in print, it would have been money wasted too, if the book wasn't bought for dirt cheap like 25 cents are up to a dollar.

message 37: by Gemma (new)

Gemma (bookmoodreviews) | 241 comments Outlander was book I didn't toss, somuch as pushed aside. I just didn't like it

I think I literally did throw Outlander across the room. I have started many library books only to put them aside and return them unread.

message 39: by Arch (new)

Arch | 4246 comments Mod
lol Megan, Outlander was a library book?

message 40: by ~Megan~ (new)

~Megan~ (megadee) | 1084 comments Mod
Yep, I'm pretty sure I got that one from the library. It went back quickly and luckily was not damaged from its toss.

message 41: by Gemma (new)

Gemma (bookmoodreviews) | 241 comments Thank god I wasn't the only one! Everyone raved about it so I gave it a go only to get so frustrated with it. I think mainly due to the stereotypical protrayal of the scottish highlander. I'm Scottish and it does annoy me no end.

message 42: by Arch (new)

Megan, you're lucky the book stayed in good shape. They would have made you paid for that book.

I got Outlander from the library this month just to know what the hype is all about. Not sure I'll get through it but nice to know not everyone is raving about it. :)

Me too Gem!! I'm glad I'm not alone. It was my secret shame in the romance novel world. Well, that and I don't like the BDB books either.
