Kids/Teens Book Club discussion

The title is pretty self explanatory...

I got some giftcards, one of them is for borders. I also got a necklace and a wii game and from my mum I got a phone along with a shirt, shorts and a knife. Yes, my mum got me a knife for Christmas. I guess she was running out of ideas.

A knife?

Yes. She told me it was for cooking. I hardly ever cook and when I do it will be some form of dessert. I don't cook dinner food.

OK then.

I haven't opened my gifts yet, but when I get back on later I shall inform you.

So far... Jeans, shirts, an iTunes gift card, shoes, and a new purse. But I haven't been to my dad's yet, so... More to come.

I got a 20 questions handheld game, two bracelets, candy, a Skiddles candy bank, and some other stuff. Not to mention a Burger King gift card.

i got a pair of epic earrings from my sis, a grey peacoat, heeled bootie things (awesome!!) and $100 from my parents to put towards an eReader or iPod touch . its great :)

I got 7 books :) money, clothes smelly stuff, a manga book how to draw thing, Xfactor tickets! >< and other stuff lol :D.

I got books (Reckless, For One More Day, Clockwork Angel, I Am Number Four and A Northern Light)
I got some DVDs (Inception, The Librarians season 3 and We can be heroes and Summer Heights High boxset...The last two are popular Australian tv shows, so if you American's havent heard of them-thats why.
I also got an extremely awesome writing journal, a book voucher, money and an IPAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But thats for my family to share. But still...

hahaa, well it's still christmas in SOME parts of the world. (where I live it's 9:56 PM on Christmas, lolz)

We had a 'light' Christmas this year, nopt a lot of gifts and stuff.
As a family, we got the Doctor Who series 5 DVD set. Then I got Borders gift cards, some money from my grandma and some curlers to do something different with my pin-straight hair.

(my fam and i were joking about what boxing day was- we settled on it being putting all the gifts you don't want into boxes to regift them. lolz :) hahaha)

In the UK too. lolz. idk bout the other places, but the UK is the one i know for sure.

Hmm...I don't think I have ever heard of Boxing Day. Here we just call it the day after Christmas.

I got amazingly amazing guitar earrings(since I play the guitar.)
Books-The Lovely Bones, I Am Number Four, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings, Fahrenheit 451, and The Ask and the Answer.
Also, an awesome blue peace sign scarf.
And, my favorite, a soon-to-be brother-in-law.

I have a Kindle, and I love it.

And Booklover, my family in Canada celebrates Boxing Day, but it's not a holiday in America. I don't get why, but... We're weird like that.

i just googled places that celebrate boxing day:

"It is most often celebrated in Australia, Britain, New Zealand, and Canada on December 26."

I just don't get why America doesn't... All of these countries have the same influences culturally as us...

America's just odd. We are the only country (i believe, correct me if im wrong) that drives on the right-hand side of the road. everyone else in the world drive on the left.

I'm not positive about that one, but I'm pretty sure we're the only ones who've rejected the metric system... And we've (as my favorite teacher says) "bastardized the English language." She says, "We don't speak English here. We speak American."

I got a boxing bag with a stand as well as gloves, chin up bar and boxing mitts. I think I have fallen in love with the boxing bag.

I got the Harry Potter book and movie set, a couple beanies, and clothes :)

We are not the only country to drive on the right. It's only countries that belonged to Britain when cars were invented that drive on the left. England is the odd one is this instance. And the same thing with Boxing Day; it's a British holiday.

I have been to my dad's now, and I got a new winter coat, socks, some new ornaments to put on the tree, pajamas, the softest blanket to ever land on this planet, and soon-t-be-coming is a new camera.
All that along with the stuff I got at my mom's.

Canadians drive on the right too (as well as having boxing day) I'm not sure what other countries drive on the right
