Mikki Having been five books shy of winning last year's challenge in a "so close yet so far" sort of situation, I'm not in any way discouraged. I've read so many terrific books because of this challenge and have no regrets. So many excellent books are coming out this year, and I can't wait!

Mikki Ten books in January, so here's hoping February does better so I don't end up cramming in the last few months!

February
011) Shadow Spinner, Susan Fletcher
012) Arsene Lupin, Maurice LeBlanc
013) Someone Like You, Susan Mallery
014) The Sealed Letter, Emma Donoghue

Mikki Okay, March is seeing a particularly bad slump. Month's nearly over and I have checked off exactly one book. One really excellent book, but one book nonetheless. Go for three!

March
016) The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay, Michael Chabon
017) The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms, N.K. Jemisin

Mikki Not gonna comment on the rate at which I'm going through these books, but to my defense some of the books I choose to read are very long. But still so fantastic!

April
018) A Game of Thrones, George R. R. Martin
019) A Clash of Kings, George R. R. Martin
020) A Storm of Swords, George R. R. Martin

Mikki I blame my lack of progress on the incredible length of George R. R. Martin's books, and count myself lucky to have finished in the time that I did.

022) Trickster's Choice, Tamora Pierce
023) Trickster's Queen, Tamora Pierce

Mikki I felt it best to take my time with the first book this month, and I think I might have possibly taken too much. The year's more than half over!

Mikki I'm twenty or so books behind. Will I be able to catch up in time to win this challenge which will have no particular effect on my life whatsoever? Stay tuned.

Mikki I think that by now, it's quite plain to everyone interested (all one of them) that I'm not going to be able to catch up to this challenge. Forty books in two months whilst juggling work, family, and friends, not to mention figuring out the rest of my life? Not going to happen. I'll keep going until I reach the end, though!

November
061) Insatiable, Meg Cabot
062) Goliath, Scott Westerfeld

message 11: by Mikki (last edited Dec 18, 2011 07:14AM) (new)

Mikki I am officially acknowledging the fact that I am in fact capable of finishing a hundred books in a year, but it won't be this one. It's a pity that comic books don't count because I've read at least two hundred of those this year. Aside from that, I have no regrets! :D

December
063) The Changeling Sea, Patricia A. McKillip

message 12: by Mandy (new)

Mandy (mandypants) There's always next year, Ori.
