EW is reporting a rumor that Julia Roberts is in talks to play the evil queen in The Brothers Grimm: Snow White.

In other Snow White news, there is another Snow White movie, Snow White and the Huntsman, that is supposedly trying to get CHarlize Theron and Viggo Mortenstern.

Melissa I can see her as the evil queen. She seems really nice, but I think she could play "scary."

I just can't believe that they have so many Snow White movies being planned at the same time. There is another one, too, called Snow and the Seven.

More Snow White news.

Kristin Stewart (of Twilight) is either in talks or has been cast to play Snow White in the Snow and the Huntsman.

For the Julia Roberts movie, they are trying to get Natalie Portman as Snow White.

Snow and the Seven is a kung-fu version of Snow White.

Mawgojzeta | 240 comments I would see the Roberts/Portman film (probably). The kung-fu one might be fun, too! Not all that excited about Stewart, so that might not end up on my to-watch list.

Norah | 1 comments I second that notion, Mawgojzeta. I would not see a Stewart movie.

Melissa I just can't see Stewart as Snow White. Even a "darker" version. I might be biased, though, since I am not really a fan to begin with (her characters have annoyed me since Catch That Kid, haha).

I think I'd rather skip movies with just about all the actresses listed above... Portman and Roberts always seemed the more popular rather than talented type. I don't know Kristen Stewart at all though, I never saw the Twilight movies. Cate Blanchett would make a great evil queen. She has real presence and her energy just eminates off the screen.

Viggo M. on the other hand is the opposite side of the coin. He's one of those actors who can play just about anyone. Even though it was a rather poor movie, he was really good in Eastern Promises.

Have you seen Appaloosa, Craig?

message 10: by [deleted user] (new)

I did Chris. I wasn't crazy about it, even though I like Ed Harris as well as Viggo M. But he (Viggo) was typically good in that as well. But then he's always good.

Yes, he is. I wasn't considering the Jung/Freud movie that is coming out, but Viggo is in it. I think will put up with Kiera Knightly for him.

I wasn't aware such a movie was in production. I wonder how they'll convey such a film which will be mostly dialog when so much of Freud and Jung are literary.

It's already out in Toronto, for the film festival there. It looks like the plot is Jung having an affair with Kiera Knightley's character.

Psychologists in love? What draws him to Kiera's character? Does she remind him of his mother? Hopefully their relationship won't be too Oedipal.

I don't know, I really don't. I just saw a preview. Apparently, Kiera's character has Daddy issues. Viggo plays Freud; Jung is Micahel Fassbender, who was in the recent Jane Eyre.

So an Electra Complex. Well, I always wish Viggo well in his endevors. He's a greatly talented actor.

Martina (i-eat-books) | 4 comments Its called "A Dangerous Method" and Knightley plays Sabina Spielrein a patient of C.G. Jung which he has an affair with. His Friend Freud doesn't approve of this - so it's the breaking point between those former friends.

I really hope i can see this film.

As for the snow white - adaption I'm not sure, I loved A Tale of Terror so much, there will never be a better Snow White film, i fear :)
