Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) | 14528 comments Anyone know of any books with a good groveling scene? You know, where the hero has done something awful and must go to heroine to beg forgiveness and humbles himself to groveling or some other "grand deed" to win his lady back?

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 21897 comments Besides Heaven, Texas(the best), ones I've read and know are good: Devil in Winter (Wallflowers, #3) by Lisa Kleypas Kiss an Angel by Susan Elizabeth Phillips Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen Dark Desires After Dusk (Immortals After Dark, #6) by Kresley Cole Flowers from the Storm by Laura Kinsale Almost Heaven by Judith McNaught Lord of Fire (Knight Miscellany Series #2) by Gaelen Foley Extreme Danger (McClouds & Friends, #5) by Shannon McKenna Cry No More by Linda Howard Simply Love by Catherine Anderson

Just read Turner's Woman (Harlequin Historical Series) by Jenna Kernan

Ones I've heard are good: A Duke of Her Own (Desperate Duchesses, #6) by Eloisa James Sarah's Child (Sarah, #1) by Linda Howard

One I can’t figure out is where the guy thinks he’s sterile and she ends up pregnant – so, of course, he doesn’t think it’s his. I think it’s by Susan Donovan or Susan Anderson, but I’m not sure. He doesn’t do too much groveling as she forgives him quick…but he is sure sweating bullets in the doctor’s office when he finds out he’s not sterile. Anyone remember that one?

Julianna (authorjuliannad) | 671 comments I just thought of The Duke by Gaelen Foley. The grand gesture the hero makes at the end to win the heroine back was really beautiful IMHO.

message 20: by Marijayne (new)

Marijayne Stegman (mjsquirrelgirl) Just finished A Weekend with Mr. Darcy A Weekend with Mr. Darcy by Victoria Connelly . There's a great groveling scene at the end of that one. Cute story about love at a Jane Austen conference. On that note, Persuasion by Jane Austen comes to mind. Captain Wentworth's letter to Anne near the end of the book is a combination of groveling and just pouring his heart out. That scene always bowls me over.
