Marsha | 6 comments I read a couple of books in this series a while back. I think my daughter would like it but now I can't remember what it is called. The boy was kept hidden by his father because the dad knew that his non-magic son would be in danger. When the father died, the boy was thrust into a world of magic where his ability (or disability) to withstand all magic was feared. The kid is very smart and has several loyal friends, including a type of AI robot that he made himself. I remember that the buildings do not touch the ground and are held up by magic forces. Any help would be appreciated.

Rachel (theprinterthatworks) | 3 comments It's a children's series called OutCast. We had the first couple books in our house a while back. Not a very memorable series name, though. I had completely forgotten it and had to look it up.

Marsha | 6 comments Now how do I move this to the solved folder?

Lisa Vegan (lisavegan) | 1396 comments Marsha, Up at the topic just to its right, there will be an edit link.

You need to do two things:

1. put "SOLVED" at the beginning of the topic title

and

2. using the pull down menu move to the SOLVED CHILDREN's folder.

If these instructions aren't clear, feel free to post again.

Luann (azbookgal) | 34 comments Marsha, the title of your post made me think of Missing Magic by Emma Laybourn - although I could see that wasn't the book you were thinking of once I read your post. But I thought I would suggest it if you are looking for another book with a similar idea of a boy who can't do magic in a world where everyone else can.

Marsha | 6 comments Thanks Luann, I will give Missing Magic a try. And thanks Lisa, I will try to get this moved to the "Solved" folder.
