Brittomart I know there's already a thread for this, and I was going to comment, but I thought about Phil so here is the original:

I was going to make a topic about slang, so I guess this fits in too.

I love drag queen vernacular. "What's the T?" I call everyone "honey," "miss thing," "honeybee." I fight the urge to call everyone "girl." I think I used "Glamazon," one of RuPaul's terms, to describe Hippolyta from A Midsummer Night's Dream on my shakespeare midterm, so....I hope my TA doesn't catch that.

I speak African-American Vernacular English sometimes with friends, and I like typing it too. Actually, I speak AAVE with most black people. Like, using apostrophes and correct spelling and all. 'cause that's what I'm saying in my head. Some of these folks, I mean just because you pronounce "these" like "deez," don't mean you gotta spell it like that. I want to write my research paper on tutoring students that only speak AAVE and have a hard time "turning it off" when it comes to writing a paper.

It's so weird when you talk to a black person that doesn't have that "second voice" that AAVE can be, and then it's...not awkward, but...it feels weird to me.

It tickles my funny bone when someone replies "I'm well" when I ask them how are they doing.
