Crazy for Chaos Walking! discussion

I don't really know anyone in this group extremely well, so I thought it'd be nice to get to know each other a little. :)

So, hi there! I'm Brigid. I'm 18 years old and I'm a senior in high school. I'll be going to college in the fall––hopefully Emerson. I got accepted, but I don't know about financial aide and blah blah. It's all very stressful. Enough with the boring stuff. (Not that college is boring, I'm very excited about it!)

Soooo I'm the oldest of six kids. I read, I tap dance, I drink lots of coffee, and I write novels. I'm a huge nerd for Chaos Walking, Mortal Instruments, and Percy Jackson & the Olympians. My favorite movie is "Once" and my favorite TV show is "Avatar: The Last Airbender".

As you can probably tell, I'm kinda immature for my age. But. You know. Whatevs. I like being a kid at heart. :D

Nice to meet ya, Brigid. And good for you! Childhood is perhaps the best time of one's life. Hold onto it for as long as you can! And I hope you get accepted to Emerson!

Anyways, I'm Emily and I am also a huge fan of Patrick Ness and also James Dashner. I love his Maze Runner series. (but not nearly as much as Chaos Walking, of course!) I'm a freshman in highschool with a class of only about eighty, and I love reading (duh!), writing, and making art.


Some random and possibly stramge facts about me: I can lick my elbow, my favorite spice is garlic,My faveorite TV shows are the Young and the Restless and Everybody Loves Raymond, I'm 4'10'', my favorite movie is Shutter Island, I like old things (including people), favorite music genre is movie soundtrack, and I'm afraid of babies.

So, if you'd tear out a page of the Emily Encyclopedia, that's what you might find. (just ignore that big word back there if I spelled it wrong...)

Ooh, I read the Maze Runner books too. They're good. But like you said, not nearly as good as Chaos Walking! Class of 80? Wowzah, that's small. My school's pretty huge ... it's like 500 kids per grade. Reading, writing, and making art are excellent activities. I approve. :)

You can lick your elbow?! THAT MEANS YOU'RE A FAIRY ... according to some book I used to read when I was a kid. I was always disappointed that I couldn't lick my elbow. Ooh, I finally found someone shorter than me! (I'm 5'1") Afraid of babies? I LOVE BABIIIIEEES. But I have a lot of experience with them ...

WHAT!!! I didn't know that about elbow licking. That's weird because I'm love fairies. I paint them and when I was little I wrote stories about them.

And I guess you would have a lot of experience with babies with all your little siblings. I'm just afraid of them because I'm afraid they'll throw up on me and if I pick them up I'm afraid I'll break them.

I LOVE READING WITH ALL MY HEART!!! My fav movies are Inception and the Batman movies with Christian Bale in them(<3) My fav actors are Chistian Bale, Heath Ledger, Jake Gyllenhaal, Logan Lerman, and the gorgeous Alex Pettyfer.

I love babies ^^ they are so cute!!!! and i babysit so i have experiance. I have two younger brothers that are 10 yr old twins. and i am 5'5" :)

I also read the Maze Runner series and loved them, But CW is of course better :)
Oh! and i tend to put some kind of smiley face in just about every post! ^^

Aside from Chaos Walking, my favourite books are Notre-Dame de Paris, Dance Dance Dance, Bonjour Tristesse, This is All, Looking for Alaska and The Princess & The Captain. My favourite singer is Regina Spektor, and my favourite band is Sigur Rós.

I'm one of those obnoxious cinema fans who loves watching subtitled films. The Italian, Noi Albinoi, Stalker, Min Liv Som Hund and Metropolis FTW.

Omigosh! I love Sigur Ros's 'Hoppipolla'!

I don't think it's their best song. To my mind Ágætis Byrjun and Með suð [...] have got some of the best songs, though it's so hard to pick a favourite. :3

I LOVE THESE BOOKS SO MUCH!!!!!! Todd is the best.

YESSSS! The characters in these books I think are the best around the literary world. Definatly a character-driven story.

But others that come close for me are Cinda Williams Chima (for Seven Realms), Kristen Cashore, Moira Young (Dustlands), Maria V. Snyder (especially Poison Study), Tamora Pierce, and that'll do cause I ramble..
Anyway, my fav actor ever is Chris Hemsworth, and the last Doctor Who, David Tennant.
I don't really know what else to mention. I love books, and if I won lotto my first move would be to buy myself pretty much a library. I'm 15, work at a hardware store, and my fav colour is brown.
I'm a movie fan, have all the Avenger movies that are out, am hanging on the Aus release of Snow White and the Huntsman (Chris Hemsworth *drool*) and collect Disney movies. My favourite one is Tangled, because I love Chuck, Zachary Levi I mean.
Nothing else I can think to mention. I've probably rattled on long enough..

I live in America;) and ironicly my favorite band at the moment is of Monsters and Men! I personaly dont think it's a coincidence since "Monsters of Men" is my alltime favorite book!!
I'm a freshman and i love running track or anything that gets my adrenilin pumping!! I lovvvve reading and i think i would fall over and die if i didnt have books. My favorite shows are Adventure Time and LOST<3 even though its off the air now(ive seen every episode twice) and my favorite movie is Dirty Rotten Scoundrels or A Few good Men! I also love the books Unwind, Blood Red Road, and Everwild. Even if they are a bit juvenille<3

p.s. i wrote a letter to the president when i was 8 asking why kids couldnt work in real buisnesses just because i wanted a job so bad. haha

I am A... and I'm twelve. i live in Ireland. I adore the chaos walking trilogy and the mortal engines quartet. but I prefer chaos walking. and love all the sherlock holmes books. i have read them all... I love the band warpaint. I listen to them excessively. I am a crazy nature lover and crafter, and I even have a blog of crafty stuff. I love all the Christopher Nolan movies that I'm allowed to watch, and The Prestige is my favorite. and i stare at studio ghible movies for hours, watching the colours.
I'm unschooled for the moment but i'm about to enter school, which is a new realm of being for me.
I also play large amounts of piano, and for the last year i have spent my time reading and playing piano. and cello, which i just started
Its horribly scary how many people on this are exactly like me. do the same sorts of people all love chaos walking or what?
Im also writing a very complex novel that i have restarted three times...
