Carla René (carlaren) | 82 comments You certain it's not updating? I thought the same thing, but turns out it just takes a while to propogate in order to finally update. And I assume you're doing it through the RSS feed, yes?

message 2: by rivka (new)

rivka Yeah, it's not instantaneous.

Kathryn (kapope) | 2 comments I am having the same issue. I understand that it's not instantaneous, but should it take several days?

--edit--
I've been keeping track, and it seems to take over a week for each update, which doesn't quite work, for anything news-related. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong, or if it's a problem with Goodreads, but thought I'd mention it, just in case.

Over a week Kathryn, that's interesting. I found your thread here because my imported blog doesn't update either (but I've "only" been waiting for two days). In Internet time, even 24 hours late is too late. Hmm. What do?

message 5: by Mark (last edited Jan 12, 2014 05:04AM) (new)

Mark Venturini | 1 comments The updates are taking much longer. Last quarter of 2013, updates appeared in roughly 24 hours. Now . . . I created a new blog 1/9/14, and as of today (1/12/14 8:00 AM) the new post has not appeared.

I hope someone is looking at this. I think we all can agree that timely updates are very important.

J. Percy (jglenpercy) | 4 comments Hi All,

I am simply trying to input my RSS feed from another blog and GR is having an issue. "An unexpected error occurred. We will investigate this problem as soon as possible — please check back soon!" Perhaps there's a systematic issue with GR's blog interface?

message 7: by Betsy (new)

Betsy Woodman | 1 comments I posted a Halloween piece on my blog day before yesterday but am still not seeing it on my Goodreads page. Oh dear.

message 8: by rivka (new)

rivka Author blog posts do import automatically, but not immediately. Goodreads checks thousands of author blogs for updates, and the process (checking one at a time) takes about a day. So it can be a day or two before new blog posts import.

Your post is likely to show up soon.

message 9: by Elyce (new)

Elyce Wakerman | 35 comments Rivka is right, Betsy; it takes a day or two for the blog to appear on Goodreads. I guess the lesson is, if you want it to appear on a specific date, best to post a couple days beforehand.
I think we'll all be in the Halloween spirit for the weekend, anyway.
Best of luck.

message 10: by Tess (new)

Tess Makovesky (tess_makovesky) | 11 comments In the past it's only taken 24 hours for my blog link to update. Now the most recent blog post on my GR page is from 24 October. I've made three blog posts since then but none of them are appearing. I've contacted the author program to see if this is a general problem... no reply yet but then they're probably inundated!

message 12: by Aaron (new)

Aaron (aaronburdette) | 89 comments Hi Tess, it looks like that particular feed had been corrupted. I just updated it by running it through FeedBurner, and it appears to be importing correctly now, as you can see here.

Let us know if you see any other issues with this!

message 13: by Jorge (new)

Jorge | 5 comments I keep trying to add my Word press blog feed to my GR author account, but I keep getting the message that my url is incorrect. Can anyone tell me what the format is supposed to be? I'm trying to add this:

http://chroniclesofclaudette.wordpres...
or
http://chroniclesofclaudette.wordpres...

Neither seems to work. thanks!

message 14: by rivka (new)

rivka Both of those appear to resolve to http://dragonsbeware.com/feed/

Have you tried that?

message 15: by Jorge (new)

Jorge | 5 comments thank you so much!! It didn't occur to me. I thought you had to put in the real name of the blog. I never realize the domain name I bought for it to redirect to would work like that. thanks again!

message 16: by Jorge (new)

Jorge | 5 comments I should add - it worked.

message 17: by rivka (new)

rivka Glad to hear it.
