What do you think of Vampire Academy?
I LOVED VAMPIRE ACADEMY!! ! I loved the whole series with a passion as bright as seven thousand suns! :)
But on a more serious note, the book was pretty freakin sweet. I loved how Rose actually had a voice for herself, and she would do anything to protect Lissa. And plus Dimitri was pretty amazing as well. Overall, I loved the book, very good read

I'm not finished yet, but this is turning out to be a great book. I just half way through right now, and - I got to say it - Mia is just a (avert your eyes children) bitch. I can't believe she told everyone that Rose is a blood whore. I wanna punch Mia for Rose right now.
Yeah I know. Mia made me really mad when she started all of that, and I don't want to give too much away, but I thought she got better as it went on.
Just finished. I love Dimitri! All the Moroi guys (especially the royals - actually now that I think about it - all the guys with a few exceptions) are total pigs. Jesse better watch his back. Victor is a mother@#$%er. I hate him. How could he treat his daughter like that?! The only decent people in this book are Dimitri, Mason, Christian, and of course Lissa and Rose.
I know, Victor was horrible! He obviously only cares about making himself better and obtaining more power and nothing else. I loved Mason and Christian, and Rose and Lissa's friendship is unbelievable. As the series progresses some of the Moroi and royals turn out to be quite awesome.
Who here thinks Victor should never see the light of day? 'Cus I do. To me, Victor's just insane.
*raises hand WAY up high* I mean that man is beyond nuts sometimes. He's so evil and weird, I mean I guess he thought he had good intentions, but still
Yeah. I don't get how Lissa ever could have considered him uncle-like. He seems like one of those guys try to avoid because of how intense they get about certain things.
Yeah, and plus he was just plain creepy...

vampires, friendship, love.
It sounds cheesy I know, but the whole vampire concept is changed in a very interesting way. It's not like every other vampire book. It has a whole new mythology. I think you'll like it.

What she did in that book kind of annoyed me because it was hard to justify, but at the same time, I was happy for her. In this first book however, I really admired her protectiveness for Lissa.

It is definitely worth the read.

The beginning did start off confusing. Here's what happen, but I wouldn't suggest reading this if you still haven't finished the first book: (view spoiler)

I'm excited to read Bloodlines. I know what you mean about Blood Promise. I kind of see Blood Promise and Spirit Bound as two parts of the same story because it doesn't really end that part of the series until Spirit Bound.

Let's just say i LOVE Vampire Academy.
It's my favorite YA series EVER. [with HP]
Finally we have a main character who's a kickass and not a pain in the ass.
Plus, the storyline is well well well-structured, the characters realistic, and the writing really really good.
Love Richelle Mead, love Vampire Academy, and can't wait for The Golden Lily, the second book out of the spin-off series for Vampire Academy, Bloodlines!
If you haven't read this series yet, don't wait and don't trust people saying it's not good.
IT'S A W E S O M E. Trust me on this.
I don't usually get excited so much over series, but this is epic.

I did! It's out since 22 August, and it's really good.
I miss Rose's POV, and I have to admit it's not as exciting as Vampire Academy, but that's also 'cause we have it under Sydney Sage's POV, so I think Richelle Mead did her best to make it interesting but still kept Sydney's characteristics the same.
And she did a really good job! (:

I think Bloodlines (series) can be as much of a success as Vampire Academy (series). If you think about it, the first book of the Vampire Academy Series wasn't so good if you compare it to Last Sacrifice. However, when I finished the first book I loved it and thought it was amazing. I think that's a similarity between Bloodlines and the first Vampire Academy.

lol watever you say VA will be more of a success than bloodlines i mean not saying cuz i hated it or something but there's always something about the first book/series AND obviously IT WAS WRITTEN FROM OUR INFAMOUS ROSE'S POV. I like sydney and all but more of a shes-sweet-and-cute kinda way but she can NOT measure up to rose LOL AGAIN it'z only my opinion

..."
I completely see where you're coming from. I haven't even read Bloodlines yet but I've heard so much about it to the point that I feel like I know everything that will happen. I don't like Sydney all that much and I don't feel like she could ever measure up to Rose.

exactly my opinion i know bloodlines gonna get better but still there was just something different about VA something that draws peoples attention toward it and of course we're gonna see more of adrian even if hes not dimitri i LIKED him in va and i kinda felt sorry for him after rose's betrayal but then i thought about and it kinda made sense I LOVE ROSE/DIMITRI. I miss'em ): I wish mead would continue with VA

I know Mead is trying to keep Rose out of Bloodlines, but I still hope we still see a good amount of Rose and Dimitri. I miss them.

I can see Ben Barnes as Dimitri but he has to do a Russian accent. He can't ruin my Dimitri with an English accent. He'd just feel incomplete.

I do agree with you there...I bet he could pull it off though. I'm sure if it ever did happen they'd throw me off by putting someone else completely in, but he was totally my visual image of Dmitri when I read the series. Oh I love me some Dmitri. I liked Adrian too, but Dmitri and Rose...le sigh!

The characters were amazing and witty, especially Rose and Adrian.
My favorite novel was definitely Shadow Kiss. The ending may be depressing, but it was beautifully written.
The book I didn't like as much as the others was Blood Promise. It had a good plot but it made me cry throughout the book.

I completely agree, there is no better vampire series, and i don't hate to say it. It is so much better than the Twilight series!!!

I'm gonna have to agree with you too. Before I read it, I was outraged people would put anything above Twilight. I was a different person then and have now learnt the error of my ways.

I know most of you have probably already read this book, but right now its new to me. I'm still pretty early on the book, but it already looks like a good read. What did you guys like about it?
