I'm pretty sure that the group is open to teens. If it were restricted you would have had to click on something certifying that you were 18 or older.

I don't know how to answer whether a book is appropriate for a teen. I have kids and my standard has always been that (excluding something pornographic- no redeeming value) if my kids want to read something and are able to read it, then they're allowed to read it. My policy has always been that there aren't really inappropriate books for my kids only inappropriate ways to handle reading controversial materials. If you know that your parents would object to certain things, then by all means you should take them the list of books and ask for their permission and let them decide.
