NB: I found my lovely old plain yellow copy. I hope to scan it and add it to my books, with the ISBN of the copy. Gollancz became famous for the bravery in their plain covers (as I recall). Considering the dreadful artwork that appeared around that time, I can only applaud this.

I also scanned the yellow cover of the copy I found.
It has this url:
http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/48...
but the picture's different, so mugging up on how to put the of *my* copy in ;)

Hi, I created the book:
http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/11...
but it won't accept the ISBN which is definitely
0575017600
Here's the error I get:
http://flic.kr/p/9FGDRK
and my head is now spinning.

> ISBN 0575017600
for the reasons you say. At that time (as I recall) all of Gollancz's SF books were issued in the characteristic plain yellow cover. Ralph, Rivka, how do we find out if the other listing is correct?
In my entry for the book, I measured and weighed it (but didn't do its BMI).
Looking forward to see it sitting there proudly, and picturelessly :)

As I said, it looks like this ISBN has been used with multiple covers, so there's no reason to think it is INcorrect.
Your new edition looks fine, although you might want to add a note about what ISBN it's an alternate cover for.

I'm querying the GR entry for The Twilight of Briareus by Richard Cowper. I read it in the days when good old Gollanz published hard cover books in the plain yellow dust-jackets. Wonderful that we painted the picture of the story in our minds. I remember where I was living, whom I was loving, how I was eating -- everything except the exact date. But I started a new job in 1977, and I'd read it several times by then. So I reckon it appeared between 1975--1977.
So the Info in the attached screenshot re 1st published in 1990 by Victor Gollancz *can't* be correct. (1974 in light print appears in brackets. But I KNOW it was Gollancz! ;) )
Any clarification would be welcome.
