message 1766: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer (bookswithbrookes) | 1 comments This is Brookes. Brookes is a kitty. In addition to eating and taking naps, Brookes likes to read and watch TV. Occasionally Brookes would like to impart her opinion on what she’s reading and watching, with help from her human slave, Jennifer.
What you’ll find on our blog:

Book reviews
Brookes does have experience studying literature, and she knows a good book when she sees it. What constitutes a good book? There are books that are technically good and also not enjoyable. There are books that aren’t technically good but are extremely enjoyable. Some books are utter crap and the entire experience is like a trip to the vet. The best books are good and also enjoyable. Brookes enjoys reading (and sleeping on) all kinds of books.

Chapter recaps
Sometimes Brookes gets a little behind on her reading, and hasn’t read a book that everyone else has. When she decides to read these books, she finds it more fun to do a chapter by chapter recap so her readers can view her experience and watch her make a fool out of herself when she tries to predict what will happen.

TV recaps
Brookes gets pretty behind on TV shows, too. She still hasn’t seen the Walking Dead! Fans of these shows can see her reaction to the best, the worst, and the most surprising moments with episode recaps.

These are the first books in a spiritual odyssey series, which spans past lives through dreams of myself and my late lover, Merlin, as our souls evolve. Reincarnation, past-life dreams and Michael Teachings overleaves add depth and insights to our star-crossed love story.

message 1792: by Kenna (new)

Kenna McKinnon (httpwwwgoodreadscomkennamckinnon) | 9 comments I've been on Goodreads for a few years but only recently started to participate, and I'm a bit lost. I do have Gisela Hausmann's ebook extoling Goodreads and she comments that Amazon and Facebook are now no longer the premium venue for authors. My name is Kenna McKinnon and I'm a Canadian author with numerous books to my credit. My current publisher is Creativia, and I'm happy with them, after signing on with two separate small press publishers, which I've since left. If there's anything I can do to help promote my fellow authors, or answer questions from readers, I'd be happy to do so.

The following is my author's bio. As I said, if there are any questions I can answer or any way I can help a new or Indie author, please let me know.

Kenna McKinnon is a Canadian freelance writer, author of SpaceHive (2012), and Bigfoot Boy: Lost on Earth, as well as Benjamin and Rumblechum, The Insanity Machine; Blood Sister; Short Circuit and Other Geek Stories; DISCOVERY: A Collection of Poetry, Den of Dark Angels, and Engaging the Dragon. Her most memorable years were spent at the University of Alberta, where she graduated with a degree in Anthropology. Kenna is a member of the Writers' Guild of Alberta and a professional member of the Canadian Authors Association. She has three wonderful children and three grandsons. Her hobbies include fitness, health, drawing, reading, walking, music, cooking and baking for friends.

message 1793: by Elley (new)

Elley Murray (elleyotter) Heyla! I'm Elley, and while I've been a reader FOREVER, I only recently started a blog called Elley the Book Otter.

I read mostly romance (regency and contemporary, though lately I've really been branching out), YA fantasy, epic fantasy, sci-fi, some urban fantasy, the occasional non-fic about octopuses (they're an obsession - best not to ask) and sort of whatever I happen to put my hands on that looks interesting.

I love reading (duh), cooking, Korean food, singing, knitting, Disney, and hanging out with my sons (James, age 3; and Link, age 1). I hate cilantro, yellow mustard, and people who use the word "literally" incorrectly. :)
