I also just finished "The Thirteenth Tale". That was an excellent pick for January.

I just started "The Shack" last night.

Dolly, let me know what you think about The Shack. I loved that one.

I just started Edgar Sawtelle and its starting to hook me. I sorta like it......it just starts out so sloow. I'm having to adjust my mind around that.

liz- i'm liking it a lot so far. 207 pages in.

Well, I switched books. I started listening to The Divide by Nicolas Evans on the two hour trip to pick up my husband at the airport Monday, and I really liked it. So, I am continuing with the printed version now and putting the Sherman Alexi book on hold.

I'm reading Anna Karenina, Pride and Prejudice, Lolita, The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test, Grace and Power: The Private World of the Kennedy White House, The Golden Compass, and Swann's Way: In Search of Lost Time, Vol. 1. Yeah, all at once. I think that by trading off, I might appreciate the book more because I'll have to wait a week before picking it up again (and also be more energized to plow through tougher books, like Anna K and Swann's Way).

Holy Cow! how are you reading all those at once? Do you ever sleep?

Meg, It's like days of the week underwear. I read from one a day. I put them relatively in order (Swann's Way is my Friday book; Golden Compass is Saturday). Unfortunately, since I've been home from college, I haven't been reading as much as I'd like because I feel obligated to stay downstairs and converse/spend quality time with my parents. And I'm just not a whiz at blocking out the TV, which is constantly on. I need to get a move on though because I want to finish a couple before I have to deal with class again.

It's also an experiment because I'm tired of reading part of book A and then getting excited/distracted by book B and then dropping A for B.

I read 2 at a time, but not more. You are now my official hero. Let me know how the experiment works and which book is best

I just picked up Mr. Darcy Takes a Wife. It looks like a skanky sequel to P&P which is totally the mood I'm feeling in. Will see if I can get into it or not.

I am currently reading Shoe Addicts Anonymous by Beth Harbison. I just started it a few days ago and am finding it a little slow to get into.

I'm afraid to say that my experiment is on life-support and fading fast. I think what screwed myself up was making a list of the books I want to read this year and some of them are ones I want to read because I feel like I need to read them and others I genuinely want to read. Oh well. At least now I know that this isn't a good idea.

I just started War & Peace and Mansfield Park

I'm 200 or so pages into The Time Traveler's Wife. It's really good so far.

I, also, read Run first and then Bel Canto. I enjoyed them both, but Bel Canto was my favorite of the two. It's on my favorite books list. Enjoy!

I'm reading He Sees You When You're Sleeping by Mary Higgins Clark & Carol Higgins Clark. Mary is one of my favorite authors of all time and I'm trying to hold on to the holidays as long as possible.

I'm trying to get going on The Thirteenth Tale...and I'm also reading Letter to my Daughter (Maya Angelou)

Queen of Babble in the City and Queen of Babble gets Hitched are both really good books - I loved them!

Cyndi, you'll have to let me know how the second one is. I've been meaning to read it. I just love Meg Cabot and usually finish her books within a day or two.

The Monsters of Templeton by Lauren Groff

I picked up "Growing Up with Roy and Dale" by Roy Rogers, Jr. at a garage sale a while back, and started on that last evening.

I'm currently focusing on 3 books (down from 7, which made me kinda of scattered because I avoided certain books) and my goal is to finish one of them by tomorrow at midnight. I'm going to focus on either Grace and Power: The Private World of the Kennedy White House or The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test because I just don't see myself finishing Anna Karenina, if I want to get any sleep (which I do). I think one of those two is doable because I have 350 pages left of Electric Kool-Aid and maybe 300 left of Grace and Power. Wish me luck!

Oh Gosh Jamie, now I am going to have to add it to my list too! :)

Heather try watching the Emma Thompson version of the movie and you will pick it right back up and finish. it is just such a good story...I love Sense and Sensibility. Oh and one time I found an audio copy of it and the girl that played Jane in the Colin Firth version (my fav) of Pride and Prejudice read it and it was wonderful to listen to.

I'm finishing The History of Love, hopefully today. Then I'm moving on to The True Story of Hansel and Gretel. I've already read the 13th tale and loved it!!!!

Methinks I'll pick up Georgiana: Duchess of Devonshire or maybe The History of Love: A Novel. I'd have to buy History, but I keep hearing good things about it and I want to read it.

I just started Manhunting by Jennifer Crusie. I've never read anything by her and am really liking it so far. I was needing a fun, easy read.

I highly recommend Georgiana. Fascinating subject. And it's not only about a woman but also by a woman -- always a plus.

I bought History of Love and the Susan Sontag journals. I think I'm going to start with Susan Sontag. Then I don't know what. I really need to stop buying new books and start reading ones I own so that I can weed through some and not have to cart a million books with me all the time.

I adored History of Love and I need to buy it so I can reread it.

I think Thirteenth Tale will probably be a new purchase for me in the not-too-far-distant future.

I listened to the audio of Thirteenth Tale....and as an audio book this one ranks high for me. It's very well done but I generally don't like experiencing my books that way because I don't think I can accurately comment on it since i didn't "read the words".

I am currently reading "The Monsters of Templeton" and trying hard to connect with the characters...I'm half way through and so far it's kind of tedious. I get my hopes up when some storylines get introduced that feel intriguing but then we're suddenly back in present day - :(
