Paranormal Romance & Urban Fantasy discussion

Okay so I've read a lot of books (ALOT) and lately I want something a little different. I've been getting into the more urban fantasy type books but it's hard because call me old fashion but I'm still a one guy one girl type of person. I'm not into really detailed sex scenes I mean if I wanted that I'd read erotica. Here are some of my favorite series:

Shifters unbound is one of my favorites series so far, it could maaaaybe have a little more action but i love the character development in this series.

I love the IAD series it's never to fluffy; and it's got Valkyrie what's not to love!!!

I've read the breed series and loved it... but the last few have seemed a little ... ehhh

Okay i know i'm missing some like Sherrilyn kenyon I just got bored with her series, J.R. Ward It got a little to detailed and i know it was more urban fantasy but the romance to me turned more erotica. etc etc.

That one is also a really good series. They get better as the books go too.

I actually didn't really love it until about book 3. I thought they were good before then but didn't love them until about then. I agree though, great series!

You might try the Tairen Soul series. It's definitely different and very well written. The world building is simply amazing and the characters are wonderful. The romance is sweet and progresses beautifully. I don't think the sex scenes are graphic enough to be even close to erotica. I would call it more fantasy than paranormal because its set in a whole different world. It's one of my all time favorite series.

Yup, I may be in the minority!

Something a little different is the Sentinel Wars series by Shannon K. Butcher. The first book is . It's PNR, hot but not erotic.

Nah, I loved every book. Just because some were better then others doesn't discount that they are awesome books.

I'm with all the votes for Kate Daniels by Ilona Andrews (hated the first fifty pages of the first book, but it's now one of my favorite series)

I am taking the series and rereading them on vacation so I'm guaranteed to have something good to read. So many funny lines and I love the storyline.

I have this on my to read list I guess I'll have to give it a try and I've read Iiona Andrews 'the edge series so i'll have to give the kate daniels series a read too.

I love patricia briggs she's exactly what I mean even later in mercy and alpha and omega she doesn't fill pages up with sex and stuff..... and about Kim harrison *spoiler spoiler spoiler* i loved that series it reminded me of Anita Blake back before Laurell HAmilton decided to turn it into erotica but I kinda.... stopped reading after the whole Kist thing... he was my favorite character so it kinda broke my heart.
