The Next Best Book Club discussion

Well, I'm not sure how to start, since I've been lurking around on this group for a few weeks, and sort of know some of you by your comments, but you don't know me :)

I live in a valley surrounded by mountains in Utah...the high desert. I found out about goodreads over a year ago. I know I have a huge amount of friends, but I've been sick in bed for the last year and a half, so it's been such a great way for me to stay connected to the real world through all of you who love books as much as I do--if you can call computers and one sentence conversations real! LOL.

(I majored in English with an emphasis in Creative Writing, so yes, I love books. I can be a real egg-head.)

Goodreads has made reading fun for me again, since there was a huge gap between my early love of the classics, and all the children's books that occupied (happily!) ten or more years of my life while I read to my small children. I've also spent more on books than I have in a long time, so I guess I have Otis Chandler to thank for that! Gee thanks, Otis. LOL.

Hey thanks for the warm welcome everyone! As for me not feeling well, the good news is that it won't last forever. My twin sister was through with the ordeal (a viral onset of fibromyalgia...) in two years.

I'll be done with it by next April! Yay.

And Giovanna, I was in heaven in college with all those English and creative writing classes. Very interesting. So, what did you end up doing?

Most definitely! I consider all my online "friends" as friends and all our chitter-chatter as real conversation. :-)

Hi Karey,sorry I'm late in welcoming you but better late then never I hope. Sorry to hear you're ailing,fibromyalgia is a hard thing to cope with but how good to know there is an end in sight.In the mean time we get to enjoy your company! Welcome :)

Hi Karey--I,too, have fibromyalgia--but not the viral type. I will have mine forever. Mine started with my cancer treatment 12 years ago. I'm glad you have a way out of it. I'm new to this site, also. This is also my first comment. Hope to chat with you in the future.

I can imagine this heaven of creative writing and English classes! I plan on doing the exact same thing after I finish this degree. I'm doing history with politics which is very interesting and I love it, but your choice would have been my first :)
