Goodreads Authors/Readers discussion

As an author I know it's important to do interviews and garner coverage for your book. But from a reader's perspective I'd like to know what they think. Do you love reading interviews, does it alter your decision on whether to buy a book or not?

Interviews and good book reviews are two of the best ways to build up brand awareness. As I say in my book on self promotion, the author IS the brand.
