Randy | 67 comments What those are, Alberto, are ARCs(Advanced reader Copies). Uncorrected proofs sent out for review purposes(I have three of them, all but Quarry's Ex) as well as authors reading and making corrections before the printing for sale copies.

The old format was too much mass market size.

Jim (jimmaclachlan) The old format was pocket book size, my favorite. They fit well in one hand for reading. Trades & HB's are just too big to hold in one hand for long & have to be rested on my leg or the dog. That severely limits the positions as I have to get it just the right distance for glasses.

I've heard one reason publishers like trade paperback size because there is no need to reformat from the HB edition. Since most small presses also tend to use that size, I would guess there are other reasons too, though.

Really, Mohammed? I'm surprised that someone who loves crime fiction as much as you do doesn't like cheap, mass-market paperbacks.
