We've had big discussions about this in recent weeks in the Feedback group. Consensus has been that it's ok for members to rate books in advance because (a) they might be reading an ARC or proof (b) they might be signalling how much they look forward to the book (c) they might be doing something else but it's really not for us to fret about because when the book does come out there will be other ratings and reviews that will weigh in and make that unreviewed star rating irrelevant.So, short answer, no.
Sean, GR allows people to rate unreleased books - people use the rating system differently, some assign stars to indicate how high on their buy list an unpublished book is.

Is there any way to send a message to this person http://www.goodreads.com/user/show/44... asking them to remove the rating they put on The Betrayals of Grim's Peak which is still 55 days from being released. I know it's not a big deal, but it irks me for some reason lol.
