Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments I was wondering if you guys would like to continue with polls for books I choose or if you'd like to start nominating books for the poll.

I could start taking nominations now for November's Book of the Month -or- I could keep creating the polls until 2012 (yikes!) and we can start nominating in November for BOM polls for the new year.

Any preference? Suggestions? Any thoughts or suggestions on the BOM in general - process of choosing, discussions, etc. are always welcome!

ALSO ... would you like to start hosting a SERIES? We could start in Jan 2012 with bk#1, then read the next book of that series each month following. The series would have to be one that is somewhat established (ie: has a handful of books already out), if we did this.

Cindy (eclecticfirefly) (eclecticfirefly) | 1237 comments Hosting a series could be fun! After all, we are all about series books here.

I like the polls - but however you choose the books is OK with me. I'm easy!

D.G. | 2752 comments I think with picking a established series that most people haven't started already would be difficult to find. But we can certainly try! I started reading PNR and UF in the last year so I have tons of good series to catch on.

I don't know how long you've been picking the books so maybe you can try the nominations for a month or two and see how that works out? If people like it, then continue or if not, then go back to the way you were doing it.

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments That was my thought, Cindy. But, that's true, DG. It would be hard to find a series that's been around for a while, but hasn't already been read by many/most of our members. I'll keep thinking on it and see what I can come up with.

Thanks for your input!

But not hard to find a series that would be a great re-read for those that have read it!

Judithe | 6566 comments I like the series idea, but different from BOM. I also like the nomination idea...maybe even on a theme~ New authors/dragons (or some other paranormal element)/authors from X region, and so on...

t'irla ~The Bookslayer~ aka Barbara (tirla) As a Series reader..I would vote a series.. I can't not read the next one when it is out...and there are tons of series I would love to reread just need the excuse:)♠

Lauren (laurenjberman) I'm also pretty new to PNR so I would also vote for a series.

Sandra | 25908 comments Well, we could do a group buddy read of a series. Wait, isn't that what we're already doing with Jaz Parks?

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments True. Maybe I'll just stick to individual book choices for the BOM and leave the series reads up to those who wish to create challenges or buddy reads for them.

t'irla, you are welcome (as are all SOS members) to create a challenge or buddy read for any series you'd like to start.

I'm reading (or trying to read) Kitty Norville and Signs of the Zodiac in 2011. On that same thread, some members have posted their series to read. As well as trying to work my way through Jaz Parks w/Charlotte and others. There was also a Hunger Games Read-Along. If you need suggestions on how to create your post, you can check those out.
