Hi Rob, and welcome. Earlier this year I read (and loved) Wilkie Collins' The Moonstone. One of the narrators of the novel had a very special relationship with Robinson Crusoe and used his copy of the book to find advice, guidance and comfort in life. I guess that Collins was fond of Robinson Crusoe, so it seems you have something in common with one of the very first writers of mystery novels.

Also liked different from what I usually read but a thriller for sure.Very Bad Men (David Loogan #2)

I've been reading for nearly fifty years now. One of the books that made a lasting impression on me as a kid was Robinson Crusoe (I always wondered why he went back).
After that I read a lot of the national (Dutch) and international classics, modern literature ('modern' meaning postwar up until the seventies), and some poetry.
Then I didn'read much fiction for a long time, only non-fiction, biographies and stuff.
Recently my wife got me into reading thrillers. I'm exploring that field now as a relative newcomer. One of the last ones that left me breathless was Spiral by Paul McEuen.
I like books that take me away but I find it increasinlgy difficult to find the ones that can keep me occupied. That's one of the reasons I joined this group.
I bought a Kindle this summer and I find it enhances and accelerates my reading experience.
