Riisa Renee (riisarenee) | 18 comments Hi Vicky,

Thanks for the awesome resource:

-Breaking the Silence
-Riisa Renée
-Memoir
-Breaking the Silence is a compilation of lessons that author Riisa Renee has learned in her quest to love and be loved. By detailing her own experiences with socially relevant and taboo topics she crafts an inspirational memoir and spiritual guide that is vividly raw in its truthfulness. Throughout every personal challenge in her story, the message that resounds most clearly is that regardless of who we are or what we have experienced, God is able to arrange the story of our lives in such a way that the end will be far greater than anything we could ever imagine.

Thanks again!

Stephen Goldin (stephengoldin) | 49 comments Kayla wrote: "This is a great idea. I'm not an author, but I am reviewer and its so hard to find books to review."

Hard to find books? Most of the reviewers I've contacted are lamenting they have so many books to review that their waiting list is months long!

To you and Vicky (and any other reviewers who happen to be listening:

Title: Shrine of the Desert Mage
Author: Stephen Goldin
Genre: Epic Fantasy
Sunopsis: Volume I of the Parsina Saga.

Starting from the fabled holy city of Ravan, two paths diverge that will take their respective travelers to the farthest reaches of Parsina. The black-hearted thief Hakem Rafi comes into possession of the ultimate power of evil, while the storyteller Jafar al-Sharif and his daughter Selima begin a longer involuntary journey that will test the limits of their ingenuity. But first, they must fool the world's greatest wizard into believing that they, too, are practitioners of the mystic arts.

Thus begins the Parsina Saga, a journey through a world of djinni, flying carpets and high adventure in exotic realms -- with the fate of the world at stake.

Jenn Thorson (jennthorson) | 65 comments I would be happy to be a part of it, if there were anyone interested in my genre--

- Title: There Goes the Galaxy
- Author's name: Jenn Thorson
- Genre: Humorous Sci-Fi/Fantasy
- Synopsis: It’s the age-old tale of boy meets alien abductor. Boy meets stun-gun. Boy learns he’s the only one in the Universe who can save the Earth from extreme world makeover by inter-stellar landlords.

Yeah: he thinks it’s a bit much, too.

Like everyone else on his planet, Bertram Ludlow hasn’t paid much attention to fluctuations in the intergalactic real estate market. But as a cognitive psychology grad student, he has given some thought to what a complete mental breakdown looks like. And this is pretty close.

Now he’s discovering space is a mad and mind-boggling place where interspecies communication rests on the power of a gumball. Where androids demand better work/life balance. Where crime is Art, technology still has its bugs, and lasers don’t go “pyew-pyew.”

It’s also surprisingly easy to get on the Universe’s Most Wanted list.

So with the weight of the world on his shoulders and the cosmic law on his tail, can Bertram outrun, outwit, and out-bid to save the Earthling squatters from one spaced-out redevelopment plan?

I can be found on Goodreads here-- There Goes the Galaxy-- or folks can email me at jennthorson at earthlink dot net :)

Lee Burton (lsburton337) | 23 comments Hi, I'd like to get in on the fun.

Title: A String of Momentary Silences
Me: L.S. Burton
Genre: Literary humor, if there is such a thing
Synopsis:

Peter Bremmer is shy, lazy, overweight, and self-conscious. He focuses on avoiding minor inconveniences, and tries to carry on conversations where he doesn’t stammer. He’d be better off, he decides, resigning himself from humanity, not trying to fit in at all, and never speaking to anybody ever again.

It’s as Peter steps off the hamster wheel of his life that he meets Bill, the man who does the puppet show in the local outdoor market, a man who, like Peter, does not speak. The two become fast friends of an unusual, unspeaking sort.

It is also around this time that Peter, quite by accident, strikes up an online relationship with a woman, Petunia. He'd like to get to know her better, and knows he’ll lose her if he doesn’t talk to her, but to speak now would mean that he’d also have to explain to her that he’s been lying to her with his silence all this time….

Oh, there's something I forgot to ask you all:

Should I email you if someone's interested in reviewing your book or would you like to check out my blog/the comments from time to time and contact the bloggers you'd like to be working with? I'm fine with both versions, whichever works best for you. :) Just let me know. x

But an occasional double check by you would be awesome, if it doesn't become too cumbersome. I'll let you know if anyone comments and I get notified.

Vicky (backpackfullofadventures) | 40 comments Yes, that's what I wanted to tell everyone too!

The easiest way to handle all the requests is to go to your book's page on my blog (http://booksbiscuitsandtea.blogspot.c... - click on the title that applies to you) and scroll all the way down to the comments, where you'll see a 'Subscribe by email' button. If you click on that, you'll automatically get each comment in your mailbox and you can contact each blogger who wants to review your book by email. :-) Apparently, you have to add the sender to your safe senders list because each notification is sent to the junk folder, but other than that, it should work.

And honestly, I never imagined writing my story either, but am so glad I did. Who knew there were so many people out there with a similar story that felt they were alone? That's part of what I love about literature (regardless of genre)- it's so much bigger than any of us. Thanks to each of you for your contributions.

Vicky, you're a marvel..hope you don't live to regret this!
I'd love to have a review here for The Crimson Bed
by Loretta Proctor. It's historical fiction but not a bodice ripper (LOL)

Frederic Ashton Thorpe and his best friend, Henry Winstone, are artists immersed in the Pre-Raphaelite movement., with its yearning for romantic escape from the materialism of Victorian society. Seeing a half-finished portrait of the beautiful Eleanor Farnham at Henry's studio, Fred is fascinated and returns in order to meet her. He and Ellie fall in love and are married.
But every heart hides a secret and both Fred and Ellie have put certain events behind them - events that, if exposed - could threaten their blissful new life. Passions escalate as Fred becomes increasingly jealous of Ellie's closeness to her handsome godfather, Lord Percy Dillinger, and when shocking truths finally come to light, their lives will never be the same again...

I hope someone will want to review the book, paperback or Kindle. Loretta www.lorettaproctor.co.uk
