I saw this today and think it's a win win. If you go to youarewhatyouread.scholastic.com/ and create a bookprint (A Bookprint is a list of five books that influenced your life as a child) Scholastic will in turn donate a book on your behalf to Reach Out and Read. Reach Out And Read is a program working with Drs giving books to children in need at their regular checkups. Scholasitc as you might now are the ones who send home book order forms with gradeschool kids. I remember being SO excited for the order forms to come out and then going through it again and again with my wishlist. Sometimes we'd have money to get a book or two and sometimes not but what an exciting thing just to be able to look through pages of books that you can buy.
The link is a little slow right now but don't give up on it.
I love that saying! Wasn't it a quote to the movie "you've got mail" wherever it's from it is so true! I always loved book fair time! Almost 30 years later I remember how I loved books like super pickle & jelly bean
