I am determined that this year I will read all the Discworld books by Terry Pratchett. I started the first one about 6 months ago and have only reached number 4.

ahaha :o) woop! I've heard the first ones aren't the best to start of with but I did enjoy them. Prepare for a lot of nonsense!

I've read the first 23 - I used to devour them as soon as they came out then gradually less obsessively then didn't bother for several years. I hope to read a few more this year, but not all of them as I have other books to read.

It would be nice to get to Night Watch by the end of the year.

yes I'm realising now that ever second book I read will prob have to be a pratchett in order to get this done but oh well I'll give it a go anyway

Yay, good luck! I will hopefully finish the first book sometime this year as I plan to retry all books I couldn't finish in 2011!

I have read every single one of them several times over. They are my easy fun reading for when I can't be bothered to look for something

Sounds like us - we always have a couple by the bed for when we're too tired to concentrate on something new.

I'm waiting for SNuff to come out in PB. Although I don't have copies of all the others - there are a handful that I read as library books and never bought my own copies.

It's on Kindle and the price isn't too bad. We have the hard back and the kindle version!

I read every TP book as soon as it comes out. I just can't help myself. It just has to be done. Moving Pictures is my personal favourite.

I couldn't even read when they first one was released so I am determined to catch up now in 2012 and I shall follow TP by reading every new book as it comes out after that.

Read them all, many times over. I often potter through the series, usually in reverse order. I've even read The Carpet People and the Strata and Nomes series. He's just my favourite author by a street. If I can fight the moths away, I'm planning to open my wallet and buy Snuff (was hoping it might appear as Christmas present but...sigh)

Soul Music is my favourite, but there are another 10 or so jostling for position.

Yeah, Darren, and we have Terry Pratchett books too!
My favourites are probably (because It's hard to narrow it down) Monstrous Regiment and Going Postal - mainly because I love the characters.
However, I love the Witches and Guards books too - same reason.

I already have all the books. I arrived at a friends house with about 100 books and left with 1500. I didn't even know he was doing it I was too busy knocking back the wine with his wife, but lo and behold TP was there with lots of other lovely authors.

You should put the pern series on that 'books i'd like on kindle' thread then we can all click to tell the publisher we want it!

So far Mort is my favourite book. but when I've only read 4 that doesnt say much. Think i'll read my first TP of this year once I finish the next book I'm on! Ohhh... EXCITING!

Soul Music & Mort are definitely among the best - fav characters though include Nanny Ogg, Granny Weatherwax & Corp. Carrot

I started reading them back in about 1990 when I lived in Birmingham. I'd then buy the paperbacks when they came out. Eventually I joined the library and they'd have the hardbacks, so I'd start reading the hardbacks and try to remember to buy the paperbacks. I'd lend them to my dad and brother and hope to get them back.
A few years back I started to not enjoy them so much, so haven't bothered with the last few. I know I've read the earlier books at least 2 or 3 times.
I was doing a clear up and started giving them away, so my collection is not so good.
If anyone is missing one in their collection, let me know and I'll see if I still have it.

Of course these are all those old-fangled papery type things that need 2 hands to use :D:D:D

You all know I love hedgehogs, and I think their feet are what inspired TP to create The Luggage.

Starting to wonder if I'll get this challenge finished this year... I need to stop reading so many other books and just read Pratchett ones for a while.

Stick with it, you won't regret it. I even like Nation, and that's not anywhere near as accessible as the others. I still haven't bought Snuff yet though.

I don't think I have snuff (can't remember) but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.

I've not tried Nation - or any of the other non-Discworld books.
I've definitely not bought Snuff yet - I'm waiting for the paperback :)

I'm just starting with Discworld, once I have done that maybe I will venture into TP's other novels but lets not bite off more than we can chew just now.

I thought Nation was excellent - much food for thought! I also loved Snuff. Can't help it - I love eveything that man writes!

I was a bit tepid about Nation. But if anyone else had written it I would probably have said all sorts of good things about it!

I finished Witches Abroad on my lunch break :o) It was very funny. I loved it.

The girl in Nation (can't remember off hand - I'm a granny you know!) is a wonderful character. I loved her attitude!

Witches Abroad was the first Discworld book I read Jud. It got me addicted!

I can see why Ignite, I was nearly laughing my pants off which, needless to say isn't very appropriate for a staff room.

I didn't Nation was all that to be honest. Wasn't overly keen on Academicals either, but Snuff is well up to ... well ... snuff.
