Or someone who's a bit OCD when it comes to authors in general and TP in particular ;-)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments I love the version Sam tells young Sam after a hard day. "That's not my Daddy! He says, 'Buggrem, buggrit! That's foul Ole Ron!"

Jay-me (Janet) | 3784 comments I bet you have Nanny Ogg's cookbook too

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments I have that! Its brilliant. Haven't tried any of the recipes though.

message 56: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments I have the book and I've tried some of the recipes. Jammy Beggars, Nobby's Mum's recipe, are actually very nice - especially with home made jam.

message 57: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments Is there actually a Discworld based recipe book?

message 59: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments Fantastic!

message 60: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments It's mainly a funny book but if you choose carefully, SOME of the recipes are good!

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments I'm just bumping this cause I don't want Patti to delete it :o)

message 62: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments Getting back on track with this challenge, I've just started Interesting Times number 17 :o) only 22 more to go!

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments Woop!

message 64: by Tim (new)

Tim | 8539 comments I suspect you meant to link to the book rather than the stage play (btw, I was in that - played Ponder Stibbons :))

message 65: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments yes i did!

message 66: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments I have slightly neglected my challenge... I wonder do I still have any hope left of completing it

Of course.

message 68: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments I need to get a move on and start reading them again. I've got sidetracked with all the new releases from our authors and the monthly reads.

message 69: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments Woot! I've started this again

Oh, I love Interesting Times, although, if pushed, I guess my favourite would probably be Witches Abroad

message 71: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments Witches Abroad I think has been my favourite so far.

I'm quite a fan of Granny Weatherwax and Nanny Ogg.

message 73: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments I find them the funniest of his characters

Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments Jud (Disney Diva) wrote: "I find them the funniest of his characters"

Yes, although I rather enjoy the Sam Vimes series as well.

message 75: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments I'm not so fussed on the Watch ones. I like them but they aren't my favourite but I do prefer them to some of the independant ones about foreign places.

message 76: by Tim (new)

Tim | 8539 comments I don't know, my top three absolute favourite Discworld books are indies: Pyramids, Small Gods and Moving Pictures. The Watch books... no, I'll expand that: the Ankh Morepork books feel like they've got into a rut. They've become predictable and it's almost crank the handle and out comes another one, kerching.

The best recent DW, in my opinion have been the Tiffany Aching stories, which are kind of 'Weatherwax lite', and off Discworld, Nation was an absolute corker.

message 77: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments I think I like the series ones the best cause they are a series and you get to see your favourite characters again.

To be honest I like them all but I just like some less than others... Don't think I've read any that I didn't like at all

I would agree that all three of those are brilliant. Also agree about the Tiffany Aching series. Nation took some getting into for me, but it was well worth the effort.

message 79: by A.L. (new)

A.L. Butcher (alb2012) | 1608 comments Snuff is excellent, brought it the day it was out and read it twice since.

Nation wasn't discworld but was alright. Academicals was funny but not as good as the others.

The first pratchett I read was Reaper Manand I was travelling on a train, I kept giggling to myself and I am sure everyone else on the train thought I was nuts.

I love anything with Death in it and Vimes. I wasn't keen on Lord and Ladies but it grew on me.

I was most upset to hear Mr Pratchett has Alzhemiers and I really hope he continues to write for as long as he can and that wonderful, witty mind is preserved as much as it can be. Such a terrible disease.

message 80: by Tim (new)

Tim | 8539 comments Lords & Ladies is a great riff on MidSummer Night's Dream (especially if you know your Shakespeare), and the stick and bucket dance, well, that's a nightmare that will live with me into old age... :)

I've really enjoyed Snuff, although I thought it rambled a bit at first. Just finished The Long Earth and found it intriguing but lacking a really strong storyline. However, I can see the potential for much more to come.

message 82: by Grant (new)

Grant (grantjamesturner) | 109 comments I have read a few and only three really gripped me; Mort, The wee free men and I shall wear midnight but I am yet to read Snuff

message 83: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments I think I love them all but I love some more than others but I haven't read one that I haven't liked. Although sometimes I get fed up that the next book doesn't have the characters I want in it, like I am ready to read another witches book but the next in the series is a night watch one, that sort of thing

message 84: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments Only 4 more left to go!!

message 85: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments Just noticed I'd missed one of the books so I've actually got 5 to go still

message 86: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments I don't seem to have snuff on my kindle so I won't include that one in my challenge, only 1 left to go!

message 87: by Philip (sarah) (new)

Philip (sarah) Willis | 4630 comments Brilliant Jud.Will you be sorry to come to the end of the challenge?

message 88: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments Sorry Sarah! Just noticed your comment now and I am a little sad. The books just get better and better as you go through the series, and I hate to think that there will be no more stories about all the characters :o(

I hope Mr Pratchett can write a few more!
