Janice (jamasc) This is a great start Sharon. How often does your book club meet? Mine meets every other month. We will be discussion The Sisters Brothers at our next meeting in a couple of weeks.

message 3: by Mikki (new)

Mikki Hi Sharon! Looks like you're off to a great start. Be sure to check the Group Reads calendar because I'm pretty sure that a few of your books are on that list.

Sharon (shiari) Janice, our group meets monthly. We just did A Fine Balance and will do Little Bee next.

Hi Mikki, I noticed that! I found Jenny's calendar (that was such a great idea!) and copied them all into my calendar. I'm now going to schedule my local bookclub reads in so I'm able to do them all.

I am so glad I stumbled across this Goodreads Group! Should be a very interesting year ...

I'm eager to hear what your club thinks of the book. I'm thinking the Coen brothers need to read this. Can you imagine their film version? I think it would be great!

Sharon (shiari) 35 countries, and counting!

message 7: by Sharon (new)

Sharon (shiari) I've now got 43 books. I'm going to try to adopt some of the immersive experiences of others and prepare foods that match locales I'm reading about and listen to appropriate music as well. I'm currently in Hawii and Boston, so will be thinking of appropriate recipies and music choices tonight. Fun ;-)

Sharon (shiari) I'm 2 books behind right now, but am not worried as I'm enjoying this challenge. I may take a bit longer than originally planned (though two books is not all that far behind). I plan to bring my list up to date shortly. I'm not sure I have 52 books on it - will have to count - and am also not sure I will actually read the list that's here. I am finding I'm in a real non-fiction mood lately ...
