Molly | 330 comments Funny - I was just talking with Chris in this group about that very thing. I think anything is allowed - it is whatever parameters you want to create for yourself. Chris felt that he wanted to challenge himself to read 50 NEW books. Although I haven't done any this year, I would count re-reads since sometimes it has been so long since I last read it that it is all new to me! I wouldn't want to discourage myself from re-reading a favorite or re-discovering a forgotten book just so I could reach a numeric goal instead.

Rachel Brand (pixieauthoress) I think that a reread should count the same as a new book - after all, you're reading the same amount of pages/words/chapters/etc! And sometimes we all have comfort reads for when we just need to curl up with a book which we *know* will make us feel happy. I suppose that you might challenge yourself to read 50 NEW books in one year, but it's personal, as technically a book is a book, whether you've read it five times or never read it before in your life.

Jaime | 45 comments I always figured that re-reads count but only once during the yr time span...like if you read a book in 2006 and then read it again now then thats fine but if you read a book in Feb and then read it again 6 months later then it wouldnt...
