Maddie (maddisonbruce) | 549 comments Any genre would be perfect, but I prefer the average boys book to the average girls. For example, I prefer action-packed, fast-paced, horror, supernatural, adventure that boys prefer to the slow, progressive soppy romances that girls do.

I am only 14 and my mum prohibits me from reading adult books, so please keep it limited! I don't mind mature content/swearing.

Karina Kantas Have you read any of S.E.Hinton's books, especially The Outsiders? I was about your age when I first fell in love with these books?

Do you have as e-reader, or do you prefer book in hand?

Michael Cargill (michaelcargill) You might like The Dukkering Boy by Frances Lewis then.

It's about a gypsy boy who gets kidnapped and taken away from his family.

It's only available for the Kindle though.

Stephen Goldin (stephengoldin) Thy the Heinlein "juveniles" for science fiction. I particularly recommend The Star Beast and Have Space Suit-Will Travel. Or almost anything by Andre Norton.

Dana (4theloveofbooks) | 2 comments Have you read the Lord of the Rings series starting with the Hobbit? Or even The Naming (pellinor) series?

Kel (Faerie-bookworm) (faerie-bookworm) | 111 comments Percy Jackson or The Kane Chronicles by Rick Riordan are good series. Darkest Powers series by Kelley Armstrong or the House of Night series by PC Cast.

Maddie (maddisonbruce) | 549 comments Thank so much everyone!

Karina, I have heard of them, just haven't gotten around to reading them.

Thanks Jennifer!

Michael, will I have to buy it to have it available to me on Kindle?

Thanks Stephen. I'll try them out!

Maybe later Anastasia. Thanks!

Try them I shall Sheri. Most of my friends have read them and recommended them. =D

I'm currently 55% through The Fellowship of the Ring Dana, and I do plan on reading the rest of J.R.R. Tolkein's books.

I own all of Rick Riordan's books thanks Kel. I haven't read them thouhg. I've read all of Kelley Armstrong's available books, and am waiting for Darkest Powers #2 to come out! I own the first House of Night and to plan on buying the rest of the series! :D Looking forward to it!

Try "Obsidian" by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Obsidian (Lux, #1) by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Michael Cargill (michaelcargill) Maddison - not sure what you mean there.

You will only be able to read The Dukkering Boy if you have a Kindle. It isn't available in paper form, only as an ebook.

Kati (woodkati6) In case you havnt already you should definately read The Hunger Games
Then there's this book Legend and The Maze Runner

Alana ~ The Book Pimp (loonyalana) | 374 comments You said you don't mind more 'mature' content as long as it's a YA book, right?

It's not out until late April- but I HIGHLY recommend
Sweet Blood of Mine by John Corwin

message 14: by Lance (new)

Lance (gunsmoke) | 4 comments You can try Silver Knight by Caron Rider . It's got action and is not a sappy romance. I'm not through with it yet, but so far it's great.

Anna del C. Dye | 24 comments If you look in my shelf you can find all kind of books there. Also the reviews I do for them.
