the episodes have too many fillers for me. i prefer to read it - though currently, and for some time, i'm not impressed at all with the manga.

How can you read naruto?!?!
I tried and couldn't, but I guess people are different... but yeah my friend told me that there was a lot of fillers but that in the end its worth it coz it goes into the characters past etc...
But i still have a long way to go, i'm only on like episode 43, shippuden
BTW: How do you make the writing in italics???

when you hit the reply button, the site italicizes the comment you are replying to. :)
i started reading the anime about a quarter of the way through shippuden. i watched the entirety of the naruto series (except for the 50-odd filler episodes after sasuke left the village). then i started watching shippuden - but that was also the time when i was starting university. reading the manga provided a much easier and time-friendly option to keep up with the series and maintain my grades. as well, i was getting tired with all the fillers and long-drawn-out scenes that the anime kept repeating. to put it lightly, it was frustrating me, haha!
yes, some of the fillers do a good job of allowing the audience to get to know the characters a little better, but at the same time, i found all the character themes to be static and predictable, and it seemed as though everything was stuck in a sort of "trance" that would not break.
certain episodes, after reading the manga, i would specifically search up to watch. the fight of naruto vs pain, for example (sorry if this may spoil - i really can't remember how far along ep 43 goes )
for me, the series started falling apart (manga included) after naruto met ___________ (female character). don't want to spoil for you :P
whew, i keep telling myself that i have to stop with long winded discussions, though i never do :P
anime i like:
-eyeshield 21
-kuroko no basuke
-sekaiichi hatsukoi (like it for the yaoi - plot not that great)
-dragon ball
dragon ball z (though the last couple seasons drove me insane, and not in a good way)
-card captor sakura
-high school of the dead
. . . . i haven't watched anime in quite some time, so . . . i'm coming up blank, haha :P
how about you? what other anime do you like to watch?

Hahaha its alright, I sometimes write long essays too :P
To be honest out of the ones you listed I have only watched a few eps of dragon ball z when i was younger, but otherwise I haven't heard of any other ones except for high school of the dead, but I wasn't sure whether to start it or not...
As for me, I started liking anime last year with naruto and from then i was hooked...the ones that I have watched so far and am watching at the moment are:
- Naruto
- Naruto Shippuden (currently)
- Another
- Death Note
- Kaichou Wa Maid Sama
- Vampire Knight
- Vampire Knight Guilty
- Ouran High School Host Club
- Fruits Basket (only coz i had nothing to watch)
- The Wallflower (stopped near the end, got annoying)
- The whole Avatar the last airbender series (including legend of korra)
- Code Breaker (currently)
- Kimi ni Todoke (currently)
So yeah thats about it....
:D

Although I sometimes watch korean dramas which are actually not that bad....
I mean I have only watched one and am going to watch a Japanese one soon but I don't mind them :D

how could i have forgotten that i watched avatar??? oh goodness, i don't deserve the elements :P
m friend watches a lot of Korean dramas. i never watched any myself, but i think it would be fun to start! :)
