Skip | 517 comments If you ever played the pen and paper RPG Shadowrun, or one of the console versions of the game, you have 3 days left to get in on the Shadowrun Returns Kickstarter.

The game is the perfect sword and laser game, as it is set in a dystopian near-future with a cyberpunk feel, but there is magic and dragons and elves and such. The explanation for getting there is that magic always exists in the world, but that it ebbs and flows over a very long time, and that it only works once the magic level rises above a threshold level. The Mayan long count wasn't counting down to the end of the world, but to the date when magic starts to work again. Check out the site and buy in if it seems like something you'd be interested in.

Colin | 278 comments Interesting. I was hoping the first Shadowrun would have been single as opposed to multi. I was quite disappointed when I learned i had to play online against others.

I wonder if there is a game mechanic where you have to roll 15 d6 like you did in 4th ed?

Never Deal with a Dragon
Choose Your Enemies Carefully
Find Your Own Truth

Jason Bergman (loonyboi) I am so excited about this! I backed the project, ordered the 20th anniversary ruleset book and put Shadowrun: Spells & Chrome on my Kindle.

Haven't touched the Shadowrun universe since the Genesis days (other than briefly checking out the horrible 360 game, which I'd like to forget ever happened), but it's a personal favorite. The mix of sword + laser is right up my alley.

Me too. They did an amazing job of showing the different aspects of the Shadowrun world, all through one storyline.

Leesa (leesalogic) | 675 comments I am currently in a SR game using the 20th anniversary rules. We started in Dec/Jan. I'm very new to the SR system. Playing an orc physad. :) She's a lot of fun.

Needless to say, I'm backing the project.

Colin | 278 comments Yeah, i played one of the standard kung-fu/unarmed adepts. I had great success sneaking up behind heavily armed and armoured cyborg killing machines, and then putting my magic fist through the back of their skull.
My GM was PISSED. In the next room he made us 'fight' a Dragon. I kicked a hole through the wall and ran away. True story!

Chet Williams (clamontwilliams) | 7 comments I loved the SNES game and cannot wait for this to come out. I backed it as well and got the Doc Wagon Card so I can pull it out just for the fun of it. The one moment I remember/love was from the SNES game when the cortex bomb was accidentally activated.

Yeah, I'm looking forward to this one. I did a lot of kickstarter game pledging recently - this, Wasteland 2, Faster Than Light, and Banner Saga. Exciting times for independent games!

Justin Lance | 20 comments I backed this one and am pretty pumped about it. I've always loved the setting but never been a huge fan of the table top rules.

This may be heresy, but I was actually a fan of the Shadowrun shooter.
