Hello everyone! My name is Beth Ann Masarik, and I am in the process of putting together a blog tour to raise awareness for an anthology I am putting together titled Writings from the Heart: Short Stories and Poems from Around the World. In this collection, 30 different authors came together for one purpose; to help raise awareness for pediatric congenital heart disease. Each year, over 1,000,000 babies are born and diagnosed with a congenital heart defect (I was one of those babies). Unfortunately, at least 100,000 of those babies will not survive.

The purpose of this anthology, is to help raise awareness of this issue. All proceeds made from this anthology, will go to the Steven & Alexandra Cohen Children's Medical Center of NY's Pediatric Cardiology Unit. (formerly known as Schneider Children's Hospital) I can personally attest to how wonderful their cardiologists are, and to celebrate my 28 years of life, I want to give back to a hospital who gave me a second chance at life.

Each story and poem found within this anthology, is written with love from each of the authors and written with children in mind. It is meant for kids ages 10 and up, and you will find most of content within to be uplifting.

This anthology is scheduled to release on June 6th, 2012, and will be published through Literary Lunes Publications in all ebook formats and trade paperback through Amazon and smashwords.com.

I am looking to host a blog tour from June 13 until July 4th. Why June 13? Because that is the day 28 years ago that I had my open heart surgery. June 6th is also significant because it will mark the 12 year anniversary that I lost my friend Andrew due to a congenital heart disease. I am releasing it on that day in his honor.
