message 43: by RachelAnne (new)

RachelAnne | 2 comments I am preparing to move to Bahrain to accept a job as head librarian of a private K-12 school. In addition to the usual non-fiction travel-assortment, I've been re-reading all of the Elizabeth Peters Amelia Peabody mysteries in preparation for life in the Middle East. It appears I shall need a stout parasol, copious quantities of whiskey and soda, and an assortment of disguises. I am glad to know this, as NONE of the standard travel reference materials prepare one for this sort of thing, or for the bizarre proliferation of Master Criminals, Lost Civilisations and tomb robbers I seem likely to encounter.
