There is a lot to say for both, really. So I would probably go for mountains but near a lake or loch. I have a thing for Scotland.
No, but I have been up to Vancouver, which is similar when you go up to Whistler and places like that.
There are probably many places in America in general where you could find the same sort of combination of water and mountains. I think there is something about that combination that stirs the soul. But that just might be me.

For some reason... I have no idea. Both sound extremely good places to live. But my opinion I wouldn't mind living at the beach. Sunny and fresh air, what more could you get than this?

I don't travel around very often, Chloe. Vancouver was my limit distance wise. I do travel a lot more around the UK, but this is a smaller island than the Americas! But that is sometimes the answer, start small with local trips.
Me too though, I do take small trips to Singapore, China and Australia/New Zealand (considering my family lives there) but I wish I could go to the States and UK.
Now, those are interesting places to visit, Chloe! I have relatives in Austrailia but have often thought of visiting New Zealand as some of the contry has a Scottish feel. Some places have Scottish names too.
Kyle, I happen to live in England so its funny when I hear about people wanting to come here to visit when we spend all our time thinking about going somewhere else!

But New Zealand is really beautiful if you love nature (which I kinda do) or if you're into scenery and photography (which I'm also am :)) It helps!

David, my college roommate lives on NZ's south island in Dunedin...can't get more Scottish than that! A very beautiful place, especially Milford Sound on the other side of the island.
That is exactly the place I was thinking of, Jennifer! I think Stewart Island might be near by, too.
You could get there a lot easier than I could!
