I, personally, think the time frames should be stretched out further, but not necessarily longer for each book. From a planning standpoint, I need more warning to fit a book into my reading schedule! I already have August planned out, but if we started discussing now what to read for *September*, I'd still have space to fit in a group book. So, if not more time between books, then at least more warning before choosing and voting!

hmmm. My friend is in a RL book club that meets at the beginning of the year and decides the schedule for the year. Would that be helpful?
Or maybe twice (or three times) a year? Sort of a check-in every few months, since people may come and go from the group, or change their minds about what they want to read later in the year.

Okay, I think the masses have spoken :)
Let's forgo an August read and I'll start a new thread for Fall Reads. Thanks, everyone!

Well, the second half of July is already upon us, which means it's time to think about August group reads. Initially, I thought a book a month would be no-problem for us serial-readers, but I'm not so sure now if the time frames shouldn't be longer. Thoughts?
I'd also like your suggestions for books that might be good to read for August. Since it's high summer reading for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, I'm thinking something lighter may be in order. Since both July books are US-based, maybe something from another part of the globe, too. And of course books that are freely available are always nice...
And very importantly, please say if you are willing to volunteer to moderate the discussion threads for any books in August.
I'm thoroughly
monopolizingenjoying this month's desicussions. Cheers.
